Hey all I'm over 3 months post op and have a vaginal tear (perineum) after dilation today. To be fair the skin that ripper (base of vagina) was very thin to begin with and the tear isn't deep at all. I'm going to the nurse tommorow to get a once over just wondering o to see if anyone has had this, knows anything about etc :) thanks

Happened to me in the same spot about 8-9 weeks post op. Since it wasn't inside the vagina my surgeon had me treat it with neosporin. It took about a week to heal and I kept up with my regular dilation schedule.

I had it two months ago when I was going up a dilator size. At the entrance, at the 9:00 position, from what they told me. The orders I got were:

- Go down a dilator size
- Lots of lube
- Very very slow and careful.
- Antiseptic, ask your surgeon about what would be best.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I still don't know how I did it. I know it was dilating, but I'm not sure if it was the result of going up a size, or that I sneezed while fitting a new dilator. But since I was only one week on the 32 mm, I had to go back to 29mm for two weeks and control that it did not bleed before trying again.
