That would be a heck of a breakthrough lol.  There's so much to account for with genes that researchers can't even find a single variable that gives rise to homosexuality.  Rather, they're finding that it's more of an epigenetic phenomenon, and the same would probably hold true for transsexualism.

But nevertheless, I guess I would feel more valid as who I am, because much of my transition has entailed people telling me that I'm not authentically trans because of this or that.  The way I see it---if I socialize as a woman, I look like a woman, and I identify as a woman---you can't really invalidate that I'm a woman.  Genes would only make my case stronger, but then we'd find ourselves in a situation where a portion of trans women aren't considered trans because of their genes. 

It will probably be better so that my parents will be able to see that it is not a choice. Right now they still think that I am making this choice.

It would make no difference to me at all.  I am already 99.9% sure that my being trans is due to DES exposure in my mother's womb.  So I know it is not a choice.  Not that there is much doubt about that anyway.

If I had had kids, finding out that it was in my DNA would be a concern.  I would worry that I had passed it on to them.  But no kids, so no worry.

    I don't think it would matter if it was in the panties I stole from clothes lines.

  But seriously I think it would make it easier to deal with if they were able to explain it.

I feel like it would be a nice validation for me, and it would be easier to come out since I wouldn't feel like I have to "prove" myself to anyone. I could just be like "Yes, hi, I'm trans, here's the lab report, get over it." Ultimately I don't think it would really make being trans as a whole any easier though.

I'm not to sure that's not the case. With current science there is no way to prove or disprove it of course. As it seems to me the genes that developed the brain are the opposite from the genes that developed the body. Would it make me feel better about being trans? I honestly don't know, would need for that to be scientifically proven to give an honest accurate answer but it would validate what I have always felt.

My opinion is that there must be a genetic predisposition to this somehow. Too many stories of trans people I know who have severely alcoholic parent or grandparent or a grandparent that was abusive to his wife. That's the way older generations dealt with shame and internal turmoil.

It wouldn't change the fact it's not much of a positive experience.

There would still be the issue of whether or not to "fix" the problem being a choice.

I am with Kathy Lauren and the DES theory. Theory only because the government has not, will not test it because of the implications it lays at the feet of Doctors and drug companies. The women born of mothers who took DES have already won an award to the cancers they got from the drug. The men born to DES mothers cannot get the same opportunity due the amounts already paid out. Plus it dispels the notion that we chose to be transgender. If this were proven, what would happen to Christianity. It is estimated over 10 million women (mothers) were treated with DES from 1937 to 1972 with an equal number of men and women, 1.5 million. The rise of estrogen substitutes in food products such as dairy and salmon. I didn't drink soda as a kid I drank lots and lots of chocolate milk.
Sex hormones and early puberty
IGF isn't the only hormone found in the food supply. Ranchers have been fattening up cattle with sex hormones—most notably estrogen—since the 1950s. Today most beef cows in the U.S.—except those labeled "organic"—receive an implant in their ear that delivers a hormone, usually a form of estrogen (estradiol) in some combination with five other hormones. (These hormones are not given to chicken and pigs because they don't have the same growth-promoting effect in these animals, although antibiotics are given to all three species for similar growth-promoting reasons.)

One concern is that such hormones may spur earlier puberty in children, who are, on average, entering puberty at a younger age than they did a generation or two ago, for reasons that are unclear.

Would make zero difference to me.

I would feel exactly as trans as I did the day before.

I wouldn't feel more validated - my present conviction and feelings are more than enough. However, as a rational being, I would probably feel more comfortable because it would be very neat to understand the precise chain of events that led to me being transgender. I guess I will never know with certitude. I'll admit that it was probably a very complex combination of events, including genetic, environmental, social... Good enough for me.

Nevermind that we're pretty clearly not XX chromosomes, maybe that's not what the OP meant.

It's quite firmly established that trans brains, both mtf and ftm result from hormonal imbalance in utero in the second trimester.

I would find it interesting but it wouldn't change my lot in life one bit.

I think it would be great. I would feel validated.

If it would help society to easier accept and understand it, it would be great.

Personal it wouldn't change anything, it is as it is.

I would feel the same but with a "TOLD YOU SOOOOO!!!!" -- and maybe a 'nay' thrown in there for fun. I don't believe anything else would be different spiritually, mentally or physically.  I'd still need surgery at some point or maybe not.
