I just cut off meds cold turkey like you should never do lol. Even HRT when I went off it (several times over the decades). I didn't suffer any ill effects, but I did notice an almost immediate improvement in my memory retention.. which left me VERY grateful that it didn't have any lasting ill effects.
SO far the only med that seems to scratch the headaches was Depakote... a med generally given for bipolar. And of course being on HRT greatly diminishes them. My body is odd though, in that I took a 'baseline' after beeing off hrt 3 months for FFS... and I do produce at least enough estrogen to be considered generally above post-menopausal women. (50 ng/dl or w/e the measured units were). I still don't have enough though to stave off bone loss, so I take it. My head definitely agrees with me taking it, that being said.
I highly doubt it is psycho-somatic either, there is a definite improvement of symptoms (though I still get bad days) back on HRT. I don't think it has anything to do with any other potential health issues or mental issues at this time.
I've been post op GCS since 2001, and that was around when I was 27 years old. I'm 43 now. If that helps any.
