Now that I've begun physically and socially transitioning, I find that my dysphoria manifests itself when I have to temporarily take a step backwards. For instance, I am not out at work and not yet out with certain friends. So, when I'm at work or in certain company, I have to "dial back" my true self to fit the situation I'm in. It makes me feel quite uncomfortable to do so. Luckily, the number of people that don't know the real me are dwindling. Not to mention the fact that my days at my present job are numbered. The more steps that I've taken moving forward, I've certainly experienced less and less dysphora on a day to day basis. This just reinforces to me that I'm on the right path.
