Hi I'm Katie Byrne :)

32 years old and 7 years into my transition. I work in video games as a programmer/3d asset creator and though originally from the UK i live in Queensland Australia

I have a degree in computer science and have a huge interest in the sciences in general. I also enjoy making youtube videos (my channel lol shameless plug haha :P <Link removed>) showing some of my work and game modding i do for fun :) I also talk about my transition and other trans issues from time to time :)

I am joining  this community as i would like to meet people who have been through similar difficulties to me and hopefully help others who need it if i can in some way. I have had several other trans-women reach out to me through my Youtube channel and always try to do whatever i can even if it's just providing a friendly face to talk to.

Anyway I'm very happy  to be a part of this community and i look forward to getting further involved in future :)

Thanks

Katie Byrne

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Hi V M

Ok Will do, thanks for the information :)

Oh and for the warm welcome of course :)

AnonyMs

I watched some of your trans video's, but I couldn't really get into it because there wasn't much detail. For example you said you went to Thailand, but the early video's didn't have any detail. I guess the reason is that its a games channel and not many trans viewers (yet). A playlist for trans stuff would be nice.

I don't play games, but I'm curious if you do this for work or if its a hobby?

Hi AnonyMs :)

First off thanks for watching :)

Yeah the Channel isn't like focused on trans issues although i do have several videos about my transition in my 'stuff about me' playlist. Most recently talking about my Feminization Laryngoplasty as you say in Thailand. But yeah the earlier videos about it were lacking in detail because my audience is mainly gamers/modders and while they are supportive of who i am i wan't to keep the channel focused you know? :)

But yes i totally plan on making more trans content in future as I would love to help other trans folk if i can.

And yes i create 3d assets and develop software professionally. although i usually cannot showcase my professional work on the channel. Sometimes i'm allowed though but it's rare :P

I'm trying to break into indie games at the minute too though and that i can document hehe :D

I'm still watching the voice surgery one, that's pretty good.

I didn't notice the about me playlist - I was looking for Trans in the title I think.

Thanks :)

And yes I can see how it could be overlooked.  I actually like the sound of a Transgender focused playlist. Would make things clearer for people skimming over my channel ;)
