So what motivated your choice of screen-name?

Terra

I go with Angel because that was a nickname I picked up as a medic. I had the patience of an angel, or so they claimed. ;) This just meant I got all the 'problem' patients in the ER. :)

I guess I'm just boring like Steph (not that I believe that).
Karen was taken so I'm using my first and middle names as a screen name.

funnygrl

I picked "funnygrl" cus' i was always the class-clown / life of the party type of...err :-\...guy ???....GIRL ;). Plus, i heard it used one time by an aquaintance who was telling me and some friends once about a TG girl he met and he said "...well, she was like you know, one of those funny girls...".

I didn't find it offensive, and i use it as kind of an honor thing if that make's any sense...probably not.

Simone, i didn't know you liked 'death metal' too!!! I love "Nightwish" also, and "Opeth".

Current faves: Tristania and Epica. Within Temptation used to be, and still high up there, but they just don't reach the heights of emotion that these two can. Amorphis also amaaazing.

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Pica Pica

Pica Pica is the latin name for the European m->-bleeped-<-ie,

I've chosen the m->-bleeped-<-ie because it has a lot of folklore around it....

one is it's propensity for stealing shiny things - this is how I would like to approach life and gender - stealing the best bits.
There is also the rhyme,
   One for sorrow,
    Two for joy,
    Three for a girl,
    Four for a boy,
    Five for silver,
    Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told.
Which sort of seems apposite and implying the vagaries of chance and stuff.

Then there is a lot of other m->-bleeped-<-ie stuff I hadn't heard of...apparently they are allied with satan, which is a bit unfair on the m->-bleeped-<-ie I say.

Lisbeth

Um... because it's who I am.  It's short for Elisabeth, my name.  Most places, though, my screen name is Lisbethk24.  That dates back to my original GeoCities account.  Evidently there were already hundreds of Lisbeth's and 23 Lisbethk's, so it proposed adding 24, and I've kept that ever since.

Tinkerbell is my favorite fairy, and like my title says, "the one and only fairy princess".  She can be incredibly sweet, mischievous, a total lady, a total bitch or your worst nightmare.  You decide; it is your choice!  >:D

Stephen

My mom at one point told me what she would have named my brother if he was a girl and what my name would have been had I turned out to be boy. Stephen is what she would have chosen (I had even asked her how she would have spelled it) for me had I been born a boy.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

cindybc

Hi,
I picked the name Cynthia from a friend I had gone to a couple of dances with. She was a really beautiful, true friend.  It never got beyond being really good friends.  Her name stuck in my mind until the time came for my name change and I used hers,  *Cynthia.*

I truly felt honored to bear her name with much pride as well, after we each went our own way 12 years + ago

Now this is sounds like a Nero question (Please, get well soon, Nero).

I am retired from my work.  It was something that I loved and it was excitement in the office.  I was always looking at new ways to make things happen, to barter between my employer and the vendors.  It was like walking on the wings of and airplane.

When I adopted this nom de display I did it in memory of those brave and crazy women who walked on the wings of a Curtiss Jenny and barnstormed with the best troupes out there.

To you ladies who flew the skies without benefit of a seatbelt, please save a place for me!  I'm on the way to the biggest barnstorm there ever was.

drkprincess

I picked my nick when I was a young teen and just starting to play around with the internet. It just kinda stuck after that. darkprincess was taken so I just dropped the a. In a way it was a reflecting my feelings, feeling down and dark and in the shadows... I guess things haven't change all that much LOL

Frank

I use Frank because it is my name.

I've found it being used many times by others who are not me.
But, I really don't care. If they are that foolish it's their problem.
