So... 2 Weeks on HRT and what do I have to show for it?

Well to start with my nipples now have a mind of their own. Constantly hard, itchy, sore. It's great! In the wider chest area my boobs are sore on and off and have taken a pointer shape with a tapioca pudding like consistency feel.  ;)

The hair on my face and body appears to be softer but I'm not sure if this is just a placebo. I'm hoping that this will help increase the effectiveness of my electrolysis.

Emotionally I'm not sure that I'm getting the roller coaster everyone else talks about? I haven't become overly emotional and I haven't had TOO much spontaneous crying. We'll see how this progresses.

Over all it feels great knowing that in some ways I'm "biologically more female" than I ever have been before which has been great for my mental health.

Watch this space!  :D

Much love <3

Congratulations on your progress!

My first couple of weeks of HRT felt about the same as you describe.  I didn't get any major emotional swings either.  I feel calmer and a lot more confident.  I cry a bit more readily, especially when I read about the suffering of other trans folks.  At four months, my facial hair is growning more slowly, and my body hair is finer and lighter in colour, not that I had that much to start with.

Congratulations on your first two weeks. I can tell you that in the month I've been on Estrodial, I've not had any mood swings but I've experienced a mental clarity and sense of calm that is helping me be happier and less angry and depressed. My doctor tells me that my levels are steady and that when you have periods of rising and dropping hormone levels is when you get moodiness and PMS type symptoms. Check with your doctor on your follow-up and hopefully they'll be able to tell you how your levels are holding up.

I've always been very emotional and certain situations can get me very weepy but I've been that way all my life. I just hope that it remains that way so I don't become an emotional trainwreck.

  Hi Raine,

It's fun isn't it?  Might as well get used to them excited nips pointing the way. They're going to be doing  that for a while yet. Mine still do after 5 1/2 months, just now mine have hills to stand on too. No more going shirtless at the beach. *sigh*

There's more fun to come, Raine, enjoy it.

  Hus,
    Laurie

Rainecloude, congratulations on starting hrt! I caution you to practice some patience (although I couldn't at two weeks into hrt). At your stage I was experiencing an emotional calmness an relief. It wasn't until 3 or 4 months into my hormone intake that I began to get big emotional swings and get more significant physical manifestations but I am an old lady and may be slower than many. My suggestion is to just enjoy the ride, the magic will take place at its own pace.

I can second the emotional changes starting around the third month in...

I also was impatient. Good things take a while!

Thanks girls! You really have put my mind at ease! You never know what's meant to be happening because everyone reacts differently but it's nice to know I'm not out of the ordinary! :D

Much love. <3

Take the improvements as they come. Embrace them. No matter how long it takes. They will come.

I have absolutely enjoyed the slow progression of the changes on HRT.  Don't get me wrong, I'm almost at my 6 month milestone, and I wish I had 12 months so I could be eligible for GCS.  However, after decades of waiting, starting HRT was like crossing the starting line on a marathon at a walking pace.   At the beginning you think how am I ever going to go all those miles when I can just look back over your shoulder and see the starting line so clearly.

But I stopped focusing on the road in front or the distance behind, and started enjoying the scenery, interacting with the other participants and reveling in the support from the spectators and family.

Congratulations on starting this amazing phase in your journey into womanhood.

The younger you are, the faster you feminize. For us late transitioners, it just takes a little more time.

Lucky, other then being more calm and less depressed I've had no changes that I can tell in my first two weeks. Though I'm 28, not sure how old you are. :3

I feel so lucky with the progress I have had so far!

I'm 23! So i'm past my growing phase! However I do wonder if being younger will speed up the process? :)

Much love. <3
