Hello All,

I am working on a project with a close friend.  I have been doing a lot of self-reflection and work over the last year and particularly focusing on my sexual function and how well I have (or more like have not) integrated my vulva and vagina following my surgery in 2008.   One thing that has really struck me is the huge lack of information and educational material available for transwoman after our GRS surgery.  Not sure I am the norm, but I only got few pages from my surgeon which focused mainly on dilation methods and safety/cleanliness immediately post-op.

We think there is a need for more information on how to integrate our new vagina/vulva.  How to work on scar tissue, how to remap/become sexually functional and orgasmic, as well as ways to pleasure and stimulate ourselves to be sexually active and satisfied.

We have shared a small survey with my friends, but wanted so see if others in our community might like to contribute and provide your insights and thoughts.  It is a survey monkey of just over 20 questions that we would super appreciate your taking if you have a moment. This will help us start to understand your level of happiness and satisfaction, and may also shed a light on areas that are a shared concern or issue.  As we roll this out to a wider audience we eventually hope to come up with guidance and educational material to share with all post-op women to enable us all to be more fulfilled and happy.  In addition, my friend  is completing her Sexological Bodywork Certification and this will help as she designs scar remediation protocols for transwomen and educates her professional community.  We also plan to interview and talk with a number of surgeons to understand if they have changed their methods or improved post-op care and support in any way, and if they see ways of gaps that could be improved.

Your participation and responses will be kept private and never shared,  If you have any questions please reach out.

Thank you for taking the survey -here it is:

Can't say I'm post-op, but I don't understand what the purpose of the survey is? It seems like a survey aimed at measuring satisfaction with surgeons rather than collecting information to help post-op women. i.e. handy for pre-op women to choose a surgeon.

There's quite a bit of information scattered around various places on Internet.

Thanks Charley - will be happy to share back with the group here.  I realized I should have been clear this is just a starting point fir us to understand if there is a need or gap here. If there is we would work on some materials and info to share and Ill be planning to come back here to share this.

Someone mentioned I might have needed to get the survey pre-approved here by the mods.  If so pleae can the mods contact me and I can provide any other info.

Another person said they thought this wax to gather satisfaction with surgeon data.  It isn't - in fact I don't mind if you don't fill that part in.  It's more to understand personal sexual function and satisfaction from a physical and mental view as well as trying to see if my personal feelings on lack of information for integration of the neovagina is still a gap today.  Lastly it's to ask about scar tissue and remediation of this - something I had no clue I even had until I worked with a professionnal.

Survey approved.

There is no reason to respond to the survey if you do not wish to and your privacy is your concern under any circumstances.

Thank you Cindy for reviewing and allowing the survey to be posted.

I just wanted to reiterate that the results and participation in the survey is anonymous.  The results will only be used to help inform me if there is a want/unmet need for us to have better post-operative care - in particular related to how to integrate and "mesh with" our new genitals and how to be sexually functional.

Thank you for anyone that is willing to add their experience.  We plan to leave it up another week or so.
