Hiya,
I'm still sort of new to this.  I had taken a gender test in a college sexuality class and came up as androgynous.  It didn't really mean anything to me at that point.  Fast forward a few years, I'm married and have a child, and I'm running smack dab into the middle of a lot of gender stereotypes that didn't mean anything to me before, they still don't mean anything to me, and they're absolutely confusing me.

Welcome to Susan's Place. It's not important to fit into somebody else's gender stereotypes. What is important is to find what is comfortable for you. You will find many people transitioning on this site and all of them have thrown out societies view of what the are and going with what they feel internally. There are others on the site that a transition doesn't feel right and they have found another option that they are comfortable with. We are here to help you find where you are comfortable so feel free to question your options and we will offer our thoughts. Disregard you college test as they can be unreliable and tell us what you feel inside.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Hiya,
I feel like I was born into the right body, but I don't have a real firm gender identity of being male or female.  I'm hoping that makes sense (I'm hoping so).  I don't really fit into the make or female world, it's slightly better when I'm relating to men.  Until I went looking and found this site, I figured that I just didn't belong anywhere.  That was the one place of disagreements I've had with my transgendered friends, at least they could do something to belong; and I know it's not as simple as that.  I know where I grew up I didn't feel that it was safe being female.  The only reason that gender test became important was that it helped put words to how I feel, even if I'm still confused.

You will have to decide what make you comfortable but possibly stay away from extremes. Don't attempt to be strongly masculine or feminine but instead stay with more of a tom boy image. Consider a unisex presentation as much as possible. We have members who take that approach because that is where they are comfortable or as a step when transitioning from one gender to another so they should be able to give you advice if you need it.

What you are describing is part of the non binary and we have a forum section for discussions of that nature. You will find it located here. You might also want to look at our WIKI as you may find a description that matches what you feel.

Hi LocusSolace

I'm Laurie, an mtf old fart. Welcome to Susan's Place, come on in and explore. There are a lot of topics here and I'll bet many that may be of interest to you and relate to your dilemma. You are probably leaning toward the non-binary and because of that I am not of much use to you as I'm not sure I understand it.  We do have folks here that do and they may be able to be of service to you. We're glad you are here.

Hugs,
