I didn't know where to post. I know how to put it on decent. But i want to learn more than what I know  I want to know how to make that kat look (meow). And learn different techniques. And especially getting a smooth foundation look.

In this subject really I don't know how to explain it. My best advice is always use some sort of eyeliner (ie eyepencil and/or liquid eyeliner) and always make sure to line both the top and bottom of the eye. Also if you have redness or blochyness on your face I'd recommend a good liquid foundation with a good loose power over it... other then that though just be creative, experiment a little, try out some new and different things and depending on your age range look at the girls who are about your age and maybe do what they do, and remember practice makes perfect. ;)

Kim, you gave me great tips, maybe I can return the favor, I'm very lucky in the fact that I not only have a wife that supports me, she also has cosmotology training (I'd be lost without her), and a PT job for Covergirl kiosk at Dillard's, and has been doing a lot of practicing LOL (Now I know why she's so supportive)

The following works great for me and gives me a pretty darn smooth complextion, My face is full of pock marks (acne and blackheads from when I was teen/early twenties) so my complextion is a bit harder to get smooth than most, also I have very coarse facial hair.

If you don't have facial hair then skip this section and go to section B

A: First wash face with an exfoliant. Then open pores with a very hot wet rag draped across face, let cool, do this a minimum of 3 times, then shave with at least a triple blade razor and women's shave gell, then apply a good cooling cleanser/moisturizer (I just use Noxema).

B: Wash face with moisturizing soap (Oil of Olay) , let dry and do the hot rag one more time and dry.

C: (Most CD's/T-Girls know this already, but I'm including it anyway) Unless you have had lazer or some other kind of permanent hair removal, even waxing will leave some, blue beard shadow, cover this up with some red cheap lipstick, smear a bit over the 'blue' area, then blend in, next apply concealer to under eyes or other dark areas.

D: Foundation, I use 2 layers, the first is a very light coat of Dermablend Smooth Indulgence, which I apply with a foundation brush, and set with the powder. The second is an amazing product I found while shopping for nails. This is Sally Hanson Airbrush Makeup, this stuff is wonderful, spray some in the palm of your hand and apply in a semi circular motion with your fingertips, goes on smooth, silky and flawless. Make sure you carry the foundation onto the ears and the neck and blend into the upper chest area.

E: Finish by applying powder with powder brush that's one shade darker than your natural skin tone.

As for the rest, check out Revlons site, they have a Product recommender that's just terif, other manufacturers have this too, but IMHO   Revlons is the best. (and my wife works for Covergirl, go figure)

Also mascara on lower lashes. (You wouldn't believe the number of women that don't do this)

2 color liner, like Black (darker color) above upper lashes, Charcoal grey (lighter color) on lower, carry this color into the corner and inner 1/4 or to just before your lashes start on eylid.

As for the cat look, try the Smoky eye look instead, it just oozes sultry/sexy.

here's a great video from U-tube on how to do smokey eyes, check out the rest of her video's too, 5 stars!

Maybe, I can get her (my wife, not the girl above) on here to add some more tips.

I love that video. :) Thank you. I realize i need to buy better make up. I like covergirl  but watching what you can do with brushes is  amazing I am glad I could help you. And you helped me a lot

Yep, a good set of brushes is key, even cheap makeup can be great with practice and quality brushes.

Renate, do you have a magnification mirror? If not invest in one with a standard mirror on one side, at least 5x magnification other side and 6" in diameter, w/ multi lighting levels. (Check out Bed, Bath, and Beyond, they have some good ones for under $40)

I'm just curious how many try to apply makeup standing in front of a bathroom mirror, bad posture, bad lighting, no arm stability... (I know I was one), Try sitting down at a table or desk and rest your arm on a solid surface, and/or place your pinky against your cheek for stability, that'll help for less 'fixes'

The whole point of eyeliner is to bring focus unto the eyes, with me, my eyes are my best facial feature, so, I do not hesitate to do so, sometimes even over doing it.

Getting the right color is key too. It depends on the look you want, skin tone, hair color, but mostly eye color, although it's not a writen law. Blue eyes should go with Blue/Silver eyeliner, Hazel and Brown eyes with black/charcoal, Green eyes with black/brown.
I have Hazel eyes, Basic Black and Dark Platinum are the colors I use mostly. My wife has brown eyes, but she likes the blues.

Visit a local beauty supply place and pick up some cheap pencils (and shadows) in different colors,  put on your favorite music, get a hot cup of tea, and experiment, most of all have fun with it. Then once you have acheived your 'look', go buy the better quality items.

make up tips?

hmmm drive with your headlights on at night.

Oh makeup.  I don't really use makeup heavily as I think it looks horrrrrible when overdone.  I use Loreals mineral foundation and blush as it goes on lightly and doesn't cake up.  For my lips a light pink lip gloss looks nice without overdoing it.  Mascara is a must and I use an eyebrow pencil to add a little definition to my eyebrows.  Sometimes I use a light brown eye shadow and highlight the inside of my eye (the medial angle and part of the eyelid).  Occasionally I will use a little eyeliner.  With makeup less is more.
