Oh I thought I would through this out here and see if there are any experenced electrical or mechnaical engineers out there.  The Firm where I work is in need of a really good electrical engineer with PE ( building systems, power, lights, etc) for light commercial and light industrial projects.

They also need a Mechancal HVAC engineer with a PE.   It's a diverse company, Hey I work there, and not a bad place to work.  The company is located in Napa Ca.  Anyone have an interest, let me know.

i need to get my PE...
problem is where i work, you don't need one.
so out of 90 engineers, 1 has a PE.

In the case of the firm I work at, It's a small 14 person firm and It really needs a new electrical engineer with a  Ca. PE.  Though a really great electrical designer would be good too.  The PE we have there is a bit, hum slow would be the word.    Me I have a PE, just not in CA... My little problem of never having taken the eit exam either not having attended collage, etc.  I seem to do things the hard way.

natalie, most of the time a PE does not get you that much, but it is nice to have in the private sector.

Oh I'll admit it's not all that much fun somedays, but it's not THAT bad.  Plus I really have fun sometimes when I meet face to face clients, contractors and venders that I've emailed, for the first time.  One poor fellow from down under about had whiplash with the double take, poor guy.  It's more not so much what we do for a living but how we do it that makes it boring or not.

With that said, I do plan on sailing a bit in a few years.

I've got a ME degree, but I just graduated. Not enough time to take the EIT, let alone get a PE  :-\

Worth looking into if you qualify, lots of places worse to live than Napa.
