Hello all...I am pretty sure this has been asked before but oh well...To anyone on IM  estradiol who has tried injecting into the thigh vs the glutes have you noticed a difference in rate of absorption?  I have read that thigh injections burn off quicker and glutes release slower. Has anyone who has done both noticed a difference in bloodwork results?  I currently inject weekly into my thigh area.

I inject into my thighs too.  I will be watching this with interest, as I've never heard of it being a slower release in the glutes.
They must find it difficult, those who have taken authority as truth, rather than truth as authority.

It's true that the glutes have a slower release. I have not done both but there is research. I have seen a chart somewhere showing the absorption rate at various injection sites for EV. If I can find it, I will post a link.

Well considering its hard to reach around to my butt and stab myself with a needle (without screwing up).. I inject my thighs too. Works fine for me..

I always injected in my glutes, never in my thighs. Absorption is quite rapid in my case.

I'm a thigh girl.  I like to inject after my 5k run.  My thigh muscle seems easier to slide the needle into at that point.  Maybe that affects the absorption, too?  Curious...

The reason why I ask is I have read multiple articles that the glute area is the slowest release.  From what I read it goes glute, thigh, then deltoid from slowest to fastest.  And for me so far  when I was injecting into my thigh area I would get this rush of nausea within about few hours of the shot which also makes me think my body was absorbing it to fast.  Last time I had my level of estradiol checked it was sky high at 1889pg/ml and that was like a day after the injection into the thigh.  I have many questions many questions.

I had not heard any of that.  I guess it might matter.  I have been on the shots so long that the only effect I feel from it anymore is I get weepy/emotional the day after I inject.  My eyes well up with tears over the dumbest things.  But, I have never felt nausea.

I agree with that these shots do get me "up in my feelings" a little more

Yes!  Part of the female experience, as my wife tells me.  (She's like "Welcome to it!")

Just an update.  It has been 3 weeks since I changed my injection location from the thigh to the hip area.  I dont know if it is psychsomatic but I do feel different on this location.  My chest has been itching way more than it has  been.  I dont know if this would have happened regardless and I wont have levels checked till next month but it does appear to make a difference at least in my case.

I get my estradiol dose from taking a pill sublingually twice per day.

Can someone explain the advantage injections have over taking the pill?

This has been on my mind lately.

Advantages:

1) one injection weekly vs having to take the pill twice daily sublingually
2) can get higher levels for a longer time but does not necessarily translate into better results
3) in some cases, cheaper $$$

I had better breast development on pills but feel better and skin/hair is glowing on injections, feminization overall seems improved too.

I am a sublingual girl as well.

I just do not like needles.

Lets start a new thread, so we do not hijack this one.

When I first started I did pills and they made me very nauseous.  So the doctor switched me to injections. I've never been nauseous with the shots. When I started injections I self injected into my thighs but it always hurt. For me anyway. So my brother started doing it for me in my backside and it doesn't hurt at all. I didn't notice any difference but I was only doing thigh injections for the first month.
