So I just got my binder Monday and only wore it once on that day since I haven't been out so I haven't felt the need to wear it. Well today I'm hanging out at my bf's house and later we are going to the movies so I want to wear it. I have it on right now and I just have a few worries, one will it make it more uncomfortable to eat when wearing a binder? Also my nipples hurt a little in it is that normal? And it hurts a little to breath not a lot, I can take deep breaths and everything, does it hurt because this is my first time wearing it?

It won't be uncomfortable to wear while eating as your binding the top half of your body. Your ribs or nipples feeling sorta achy but not painful is normal for a new binder but it should stop after wearing it a few times. Hurting while breathing though isn't normal.

What brand are you wearing? I found wearing an Underworks binder it did feel slightly painful and I found it difficult exhaling. Plus wearing it for just a few hours made my ribs hurt even when the binder had been worn a few times before. Since wearing a GC2B I've had no such problems as they're designed for trans men's bodies only.

Thanks for all the feedback! I'm wearing one from GC2B and I think it's the right size. It's not too difficult to put on and doesn't feel like it's squeezing me to death. I'm thinking maybe it hurts a little to breath because it's really early in the morning maybe? I was considering maybe taking it off and not putting it on til I have to go to the movies? Like I'll wear it for a few hours then take it off for a few hours before putting it back on, maybe that'll get my body used to wearing it?

Sounds like a good plan :). If you feel like you need a break it's best to listen to your body. I found GC2B sizes a bit odd. Even measuring my chest correctly it was a size too big and had to exchange it. But on the plus the company made me exchanging it hassle free and they have good customer service.

Hope you find it more comfortable to wear soon :)

You need to get use to the feeling of getting constantly squeezed. Don't put it on for the first time and go out for a long time because your body won't like that. My first binder I pretty much had to nap in the first time and then I was good after that; it was underworks though.

The first time i wore a binder in public was also to the cinema (you spend most of your time there sitting in the dark with no one looking at you so it seemed like the best place haha) and i brought a sports bra with me so that if the binder got too much i could change and still be reasonably flat. I've never actually had to do it though.

binding will inevitably hurt though, and there's no 100% safe way to do it. best advice is to have a backup plan and don't go too hard too soon. usually the advice for how long to wear one is 8 - 12 hours but maybe do less than that if you're finding it difficult

Can't say I've ever experienced a binder hurting, and I go for the real tight ones. That said I tend to wear something under it as well, of the same material, typically Lycra stuff, so that there's no chafing on the chest. I've never experienced any chafing, it's just that I'm so anal about being flat I'll take several layers. Habit.

If it hurts to breathe that isn't good. You might be wearing something that's just way too small. Or possibly you need to break a new binder in a bit, they do stretch out some after a few uses. Shouldn't affect your ability to eat unless you're planning on eating a huge meal.

I'm back, I put it back on and was fine only a little back pain. But today I only put it on for a short short time and I had to take it off. My stomach hurt a little and the area around my heart hurt.

If you have a long binder or reflux it can be uncomfortable to eat. My first binder was a long underworks tritop. I could not eat in it. Anything that compresses my stomach or diaphragm wont work for me. I bought a GC2B binder and I have a lot less of a problem. I went a little big as I was on the edge of the sizes. I still have a small amount of discomfort when I eat, but it passes quickly.
