Just sent my name and gender change paperwork off to the Registrar General of Ontario.

I'm curious how long it will take to get a new Birth Cerificate (with an F...yay!) and the name change certificate.  Then starts the long process of changing everything else in my life which doesn't have my new name...

Well....I'm now legally Kathryn now!   I received the Change of Name certificate on 9 June which was registered on 31 May.  It feels great, but much like turning 18....I know something important just happened but as I've been Kathryn for a long time it's a little anticlimactic.

I now have to wait for the next piece, the birth certificate with the gender marker changed so I can get some of the more significant identification documents changed.

The best part is the smug look  on their faces turning to disbelief as you hand over the ID. It doesn't happen often anymore to me but very satisfying when it did especially with a particular "service" that insisted on using my "legal" name.

Congrats
