Sorting out some old files in one of my old storage boxes, I came across a humorous note that a cis girlfriend gave me some 35 years ago when I first transitioned in my late 20's as a way to understand women's power. Its called the 18 Rules of womanhood.

1. The FEMALE always makes the rules
2. The rules are subject to change at any time WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION
3. No MALE can possibly know all the rules.
4. If the FEMALE suspects the MALE knows all the rules, she must immediately change some or all of the rules.
5. The FEMALE is never wrong
6. If the FEMALE is wrong, it is due to a misunderstanding which is a direct result of something the Male said wrong.
7. If rule 6 applies, the MALE must apologise immediately for causing the misunderstanding
8. The FEMALE may change her mind at any time
9. The MALE must never change his mind without the expressed written consent of the FEMALE
10. The FEMALE has every right to be angry or upset at any time.
11. The MALE must remain calm at all times, unless the FEMALE wants him to be agree or upset.
12. The FEMALE must under no circumstance let the MALE Know whether or not she wants him to be angry or upset.
13. The MALE is expected to mind-read at all times
14. The MALE who does not abide by the Rules  and cannot take the heat, lacks backbone and is a wimp.
15. Any attempt to document the Rules can lead to bodily harm
16. If the FEMALE has PMT (or for TG Women cyclical symptoms of PMT), all the  rules are null and void
17.The FEMALE is ready for Sex when she says she is ready
18. The MALE must be ready for Sex at all times.

Hahaha, yes.

I have used "FINE" in email responses at work in the full female sense of me knowing I am right 🤣

Oh and poor everyone around me while #16 applies...

Knowing I am right while a guy ignores me happens to me too. Its usually my brother. But one of the joys of my life is telling him not to do something, him ignoring me and then watching whatever it was turn into a epic fail! It brightens my day every time. Lol

A wise man learns on other people's mistakes. A fool doesn't learn from his own. Majority of the people are in the middle - we learn from our own. I hope your brother ain't a fool and eventually learn too to listen to you.

Meanwhile, I'm with you and I love letting people who don't listen to me to fail (or sometimes succeed) on their own (unless a failure could be catastrophic).

The list is funny to read, but in real life, it does sound a bit demanding, in my opinion. Not really good for a long term relationship.

These rules really do apply to many cis women!   Perhaps this is why trans women make beter SO's having had the benefit of once viewing the gender world from the other side...

It is called an attitude!  :embarrassed: And that is one reason why the divorce rate is so high. :'(

This small statement just jolted me awake. I've never viewed the gender world from the other side because I was raised female alongside my sisters.  This little statement is one of the few reasons why I come to this site and read everyone's thoughts and opinions. Almost as if asking myself if I missed something. It fascinates me. Someone mentioned 'male privilege' in one of the posts and that too fascinated me.  Its just very interesting and makes good late night crazy conversation with my husband  :)
