I have been planning my birthday and have decided to spoil myself rotten.  It's going to be totally a celebration of me.  I haven't done that in a long time, and this will be my most event-filled birthday in years.

First it will be breakfast with my pastor, AKA PaCo, at 9AM, I think, we've not yet confirmed the time.

From 11-3 I'll be working, but HR will be having a cake that afternoon to celebrate all February birthdays, so I'm gonna' snag me a piece o' that.

At 5:30 I'll be having dinner at TGI Friday's.  I've sent an e-mail invite to my church's campus ministry group, as well as a few other friends, to come and join me. 

At 7 one of the guys from church is having a wine and cheese party so I will probably poke my head in, but only for a short while because........

At 8:15 it's the opening night at the Hippodrome Theatre for A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings for which I've got one of the last tickets.

After that, a little night life at one of the clubs in town, but you won't be seeing me on the dance floor  I'm not much of a party animal, in fact, haven't been to a club since my friend went for her birthday some 2 years ago... sometimes I just like to be around the loud music and lights and watch the people...

Then I'll go home and collapse, but not before stopping by to check in with my friendz here.... 

Whew!  I'm exhausted just thinking about it-- I better get my rest Thursday night !!

Will be in tomorrow night (or early Saturday morning, as the case is more likely to be!) to give you all an update on my day.  This birthday really will be a celebration of me, as all birthdays ideally should be. But in the past I didn't quite love myself very much. In previous years I might have just not cared about the day, or sat around feeling sorry for myself.  This time I asked myself, "What can I do to make it a terrific day?"  Then I pursued it with a vengeance and am not bound to be disappointed. 

Of course, after all this revelry, I will need to come back to earth and love myself in a more lasting way by learning how to eat right and exercise---I'll need help with that....discipline is not my strong point... Anyway, more later...  thanks again everyone for all of your good wishes--- I wish I could have the lot of you here to spend my day with me!  In fact I was at work allowing myself a daydream when I envisioned a far away friend suddenly appearing at my birthday dinner....wouldn't that have rocked?
