Hypogonadism stopping TRT

Hello,
I have hypogonadism (low to no testosterone production) and have been taking testosterone replacement for years.  However, I am now ready to embrace my feminine side and want to stop the TRT.  I was wondering if there are any MTFs out there who started with low testosterone before transitioning, and what hormones did they have to take?  Did you stop the testosterone?
Thanks

I was on T therapy and the day I discovered I was in fact trans was the last day I took T. I had tried unsuccessfully to get off before but that day I was just done and never looked back.
Cheers,

Dana

I am Intersex 47XXY and I was on Androgel for about three years before I decided to start HRT. I stopped using the gel 3 to 4 days prior to starting Estradiol. Because I have naturally low T, my doctor did not see a need for blockers.

I have had low to no T for over a couple of years now as a result of other medications. I don't take any T blockers but am on an Oestrogen implant...

If possible I would keep some kind of T level evens if its within female range. The reason I say this is a small level is required to help with things like motivation and sex drive. MY last level came back as <0.05..the side effects seem to be lethargy, weight gain, no to 0 libido.

A few years ago when I was trying to "fix" myself...I had two shots of T over a two month period and my wife has described me as "Toxic" during this period....it was such a relief to say no to the T injections....I will be looking for a change at my next appointment in July, I would like a little added to my regime to see if helps in other areas'.

Despite very low T, some do quite well on E or on E and P alone, if the doses are right. Sometimes, it's not really that T is too low but that E is too low. And then, there are those who regardless of their E and/or P, need something extra...T!
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

Hi and welcome to the site. Only about a month late now, right? Sorry.

I don't have any answers for you on this. Outside of my wheel well. I am only keeping mine around for the potential of surgery in the near future. Looks like you got some good responses both here and on your other thread.

Thanks for sharing with us. It was brave and not always easy to do.

This situation is very similar to mine. I had been diagnosed with low testosterone a couple of years ago. I was promised that TRT was the pancea for all that ailed me.  I took it, and basically threw myself into a bunch of hyper masculine pursuits (lifting weights/MMA) trying to bury my longstanding dysphoric feelings. Initially it was fine, but I found myself always angry, ultra competitive and pretty much a jerk. I quit cold turkey, and ran into some issues prompting me to seek therapy. I found my way to a great therapist who has helped and am currently in the process of seeking out an MD to prescribe me a low dose HRT.

Ya...I ran into this too - was diagnosed with super low T - tried TRT for a couple of weeks - felt less fatigued but dysphoria went through the roof. Tried HRT and knew within a few hours that it was the right thing. Felt so much better really fast. Everything been going great for over a year now...:)
