My name is Alia. Nice to be here!

I came out two and a half years ago (nearly to the day). I came out at work this past November. I've been on HRT for two months. Everything is both new and familiar, exciting and terrifying. I'm so happy I found this forum in my rabid internet searching. I left the Facebook page I'd found before this website, due to their advocating and support of self-medicating, and after being attacked by another trans woman for not passing well enough for her liking at my current stage of transition. This site seems so very different than that, and I've been silently gleaning information for the past couple of weeks before signing up the other day.

I think this could be such a wonderful place to make a home, connect, find info, and feel less alone.

Welcome to Susan's Place. As we are a medical information site, our goal is to help everybody find the place where they belong. For some, they may chose not to transition while other desire to go all the way. As you will see in the links below, our goal is to make this place safe for everybody. Love your name and it is not right for any person to another for any reason. I think all of us have our own opinions of ourselves and don't need someone adding to our own concerns about looks. I think yes she needs to refocus her life than tearing down someone else's. So welcome Alia. I am fairly new to forum as well and beginning my journey. I can relate and everyone here is really nice and great!!!!!

Welcome. I'm very new here as well.

Sorry to hear you had troubles on a FB group however their loss is our gain. I'm sure you find all the help you need here because from what I can tell the people want to help each other no matter of your gender preference or point in transition.

Good luck and if you can't find information just ask because I'm sure their are others who have been through it and can offer advice.

Welcome to the forums as well. I'm new here also and am enjoying it. Everyone here has been supportive and understanding. Everyone is at different stages of their journey and no one should criticize another for any reason. We are all here to lift others up.

I'm happy that you found this site after the terrible experience you had on a fb site. People here are so supportive, no matter what stage of transition you are at. All we want to do is become who we truly are, and that is the most positive thing we can do in our lives.

I love your name, too. Alia. It reminds me of the term Aliyah, which describes the migration of Jews from the diaspora to the land of Israel.  In this instance, you are migrating to your real identity.
