So a very good friend of mine is debating with me that hormones can't cause physical changes to the human body. My friend is mtf but a little confused over a few things. I could use some help here of some before and after's with all the girls transitioning. Shoot them in a Pm if that works for you. My friend is a derp and science is not her strong suit. I tried the Google lol she said they are all Photoshoped.

Your friend is wrong. My boobs, hips and female facial features say otherwise.

Not sure anything will convince her if that's the way she thinks. Its kind of up there with the earth being flat.

Hormones made me unrecognizable to the way I used to look. Your friend is wrong. They don't have the impact of surgery but it's still huge. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact. And if she's debating facts, she's not worth debating.

I have a nice pair of AA boobs and some lovely full lips that say that your friend is wrong.

Serendipitously, Facebook just offered me a "thanks for being with us for four years" post. It's a great display of how much HRT has changed me physically in the past.three years. I think there were mental changes, too, but those COULD be second order effects.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

Hormones can and will rearrange body fat all over including on the face. Check out a ->-bleeped-<- group called trans timelines or the before and after section here on Susan's and you will see how much change HRT brings about.

It all depends on what they mean by change. And also your age starting out. If you are pre pubescent, hormones will make you go into puberty as a female.

Since most of us are older, the effects are not as drastic. But as others have said, your skin softens, your fat redistributes. You'll grow breasts. You will lose some body hair.

What it won't do it change your bone structure, make your voice higher, etc.

Like Wild Flower said, it's 40% of the battle, unless you stared very young.

If hormones have no effect then the moon is made of green cheese, and I can blame misspelled words on my pencil.

I have only been on hormones since January, and already my breasts have more than doubled in size, fat has been redistributed from my face and belly to other areas, such as my hips, and my body hair has drastically thinned out. I used to have to shave my legs every single day. Now I use Nair and only have to once a week. So I, like many others, am living proof that hormones change EVERYTHING.
