So I just felt like I had to post this because it gave me hope that coming out at work won't be as bad as I anticipate.

So after a few weeks of umming about the best way to tell my boss we finally had the talk, I had hoped to do it in person but he is on sick leave so it happened over the phone.

We had a small chat and then he rang back, the second call was amazing.

He told me that he didn't care about my personal choices and would support me throughout the process.

He said he has never dealt with a trans person before so he doesn't want to overstep but he wanted me to know he will help any way he can with HR other staff and Logistics of changing facilities ect.

He suggested that we could do a refresher on our company's discrimination policy to coincide with just before I come out.

I was so taken a back, I had not expected it to go anywhere near that well guess some people just surprise you.

It think it's going to be the highlight of my week :) it's definitely going to be hard to top.

What a brilliant outcome, it is just so amazing when you get support from unexpected places.

Congrats on a very difficult discussion.

Very happy for you and you give me a very much needed hope. I myself will probably have to take that big step quite sooner than initially planned, as my physical changes are happening much faster than I imagined possible. Hope to be greeted with the same attitude as you did! :-)
