I have had people give me weird looks when I go into the girls bathroon (because some days I pass well but am with people I am not out to or i am at school) but I just shrug it off because its not their business. But there was one time that sticks with me, an actual confrontation.
I was in a target womens bathroom because I didn't not feel I was passing and honestly anxiety kept me out of the guys room. A worker walked in while I was drying my hands and said "I'm... You are in the wrong bathroom" to which I said "actually no I'm not. Thanks though" but honestly I was. It helped boost some of my passing confidence, but also made me feel scrappy because she said something.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with someone actually saying something or any ideas of what I can do next time (hopefully there isnt a next time though). Anu ideas or personal stories will be helpful.

I've had a few shocked looks or scowls over the years but nobody has ever said anything. I would have reminded the person of their companies policy and if she was rude about it, i would have asked to speak to the store manager. I understand you were not in your preferred bathroom, but that person has no right to question it either way.

I overheard once a mommy telling her daughter 'it is ok'. Many other times it went through without a question, even a few times when there were long lines and young girls being in front of me (I fully expected someone would raise a hell on that occasion).

I only was confronted once by a male rest area attendant who did not want me to go in (but he was behind me, not in front, so I just ignored him and locked myself in the stall). He actually went in (the restroom seemed pretty empty to be honest) and asked me leave. So _after_ I finished my business, I left. But not without claiming to him that transsexual people has a right in his state to use the restroom matching their presentation and as a state employee he is violating state law. It was a BS, but I hope he won't do it again.

I had an intense encounter with a woman in a bathroom. She followed me in, screaming at the top of her lungs about womens rights, and freaks/perverts aren't allowed to be in there. When I finished she tried to block me every time I tried to step around her. Eventually she went to slap me. I knocked her hand away, she tripped, hit the wall, and slid down to the floor. I left her sitting there. I wanted to rip her tongue out, but obviously didn't

Other than that, I haven't had any problems that I have noticed. I'm sure some people are thinking "WTF", but they haven't said anything.
