Hi Everyone

I'm Charlotte from Essex in the UK.  I've been lurking in the background for the last couple of weeks so thought it was about time I stopped being illusive and introduced myself

In hindsight, I've know I was transgender since I was 7 or 8.  As with many others though, I went down the route of denial and repressed my true-self right through my twenties and most of my thirties, presenting only in private.  Struggling with close relationships, instead I threw myself into work and hobbies which seemed to work well for many years but that all changed in the last few years as my dysphoria has grown massively

After much soul searching  and self analysis, I have started taking steps towards transition.  It has been a very tricky past year but things are really starting to look much more positive.  I now have a therapist on board and am hoping to start HRT soon.  I guess the next few years are going to be interesting and I definitely can't wait to see how the next few chapters of my life unfold!

Anyways, I look forward to chatting with you all more over the coming weeks and months

Hi, Charlotte!

Thank you for coming forward.   We don't bite, really.  Well, there's Devlyn, but...

Yes, your story sounds like it follows the outline many of us have in our past.  Eventually, we all do what we need to do to find our path toward inner peace and joy.  I'm glad to read that you are moving along in your quest, with therapy and seeking HRT.  The future will be most interesting for you!

I hope you feel welcome here.

Dan

Welcome, Charlotte! Greetings from sunnier Australia! :D

I also have been transgender since as long as I can remember; and I have to say it's easier for girls to express their gender than males, so I was able to hold out for a long time before I felt it was time to make my transition medical, and then surgical to continue to be recognized as the person I see myself to be.

My medical transition started a few days ago. The scenery so far is serene :)

Looking forward to hearing more from you on this transformation train.

Hey; nice to see another person from Essex :). You might want to check out the Transpire fb page which hold trans meetings in Southend. It's also a useful resource if you can't go to a meeting.

If you need any advice just msg me.
They/them pronouns preferred.

Hi Charlotte,

I have enjoyed visits to England - areas within a day's drive from London.
I live in the US, the west coast provides a safe distance from Devlyn.   :D

Great to hear you are seeing a therapist, I am also about to start HRT.
Since I am half Japanese I figured that was a good excuse to write a Haiku.

Hi Dan - that's very encouraging to hear that things are going so well and so quickly for you.  It's definitely early days still for me but since I started to accept and commit, things have really started to turn a corner - exciting times!

Not sure where you got that crazy idea. I'm heading west in the back of Laurie's truck.
I just haven't told her.

A truck is called a lorry in England.  Coincidence?
