But my skin is undeniably smoother, dryer and firmer. And I didn't do anything else (peelings, etc) except HRT. And I'm clearly not the only reporting those effects.

I'm gearing up for HRT now and am curious how long did it take before your complexion changed?

Hi Charlotte!

It was something gradual, but about 6 weeks into HRT I had no more acne and my skin wasn't oily anymore. Oily skin was a problem which I struggled with my whole life... I always looked like I was sweating but it was sebum... I found it disgusting. Well, HRT totally solved that. So much that I must now use moisturizer in the morning and evening, or the skin becomes dry. The pores around my nose also became noticeably smaller and after a good 4 months, much of my fine wrinkles were gone. For me, it was a fountain of youth!

Good luck to you!

Peace & Hugs, Sarah

Wow - HRT certainly works fast!  I guess in my mind I didn't think there would really be much chance of anything outwardly noticeable happening for at least six months.  I suppose it's a case of YMMV but that's super encouraging

It doesn't take long and it is noticeable .  I had been on HRT for less than a year when someone looked at my three year old profile picture on LinkedIn.  He said I looked really different (and he didn't know why, LOL).

I totally agree with you gals about the tangible impacts of hrt on our faces but hey, you left out the most significant part of the facial changes and they are obvious in most of our pictures. Ever since I began hrt a little over a year ago I have been happier than I can ever rember. The smile that lives on my face (when I am not crying ) has take  years off of my look and has changed the my whole image. That has to be added to the list of demonstrable changes induced by hormone therapy.

Stop deceiving yourself and other, HRT does nothing to your face.

When I went back on HRT after being off it for about 10 years, within a month the fat moved to my face removed the purple under my eyes. I am also seeing fat deposited on my  cheeks however at my current dosage, it's gone to take another couple of years to get things back the way they should be. HRT for most of us isn't FFS but combined with makeup and the correct hair style can make a difference.

My proof is before I returned to hormones, going in public without makeup, I would not be gendered or gendered male. In the last few months, I am being gendered female. Something has changed and I am pretty sure it's because HRT has pushed me over the edge.

My phone has  facial recognition and it links all pics with the same faces together and makes a folder well about 2 months ago I have a new folder because my phone now thinks I am a different person

Megan.

As a community we have to deal with alot of people trying to impose their opinions on us,  let's not do it to each other.
I've seen many comments and seen many pictures that suggest changes (soft tissue only) may occur. Those that feel this is the case are welcome to their opinion, as are those who don't.
I will measure the effects myself,  but even then,  whatever they are,  they will only relate to my own experience.

Cheeks, some reduction in masseter muscle, all soft tissue changes...  The skin is smoother, fees thinner, and is less oily.  Pores on and near the nose are smaller.

Is that really you Michelle, that HRT really is good stuff can't wait to get on it.

Yup, I just checked the mirror and that's me. Note that I'm also getting better with hair and makeup. (And that is the exact same wig in both the 2 month and one year shots)

I've posted my full makeup drill over here:  https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,217010.msg1921004.html#msg1921004
Takes about 20-25 minutes in the morning, lasts into the evening with a quick touch up.
