Hello! I'm Roman, 23 years old, and freshly graduated with a degree in Art and Animation and Los Angeles based. I identify as queer and non-binary (leaning more towards masculine) and i use he/him and they/them pronouns. I am here to help prepare myself for HRT and coming out to my family as well as seeking guidance from other trans peers on my journey to embracing my identity and learning to love myself and the body i was born with, despite the misalignment with my reproductive organs and my gender.

I am openly queer and out to my friends and family, but i am closeted trans.

I am hoping to further my career in the entertainment industry and work in video game pre-production in designing monsters and other horrifying creatures. If there is anyone else here that is interested in pursuing something similar, i would love to network! I'm sure there are not many openly trans artists in the industry!

I am a fan of Darksouls, Bloodborne, Berserk, Dragon Age, Visual Novels, Transformers, Metal Gear, various anime series, and various books. I have a very heavy interest in queer politics and studies and hope to one day be apart of a AAA video game or animated production featuring an openly queer character with heavily queer plots.

Hi Roman!

I told my parents I am transgender today.  I work in a different industry, but I believe people who apply creative talent in their work also have a greater tendency to explore their own identity - I think that's a strength.

Looking forward to seeing you around the neighborhood - I think you will find it's a great place.

Welcome, Roman!

Congratulations on the Art and Animation degree.  Thats a really interesting field, full of insanely creative folks (who also seem to be pretty nonjudgemental).  I was a techie type, but I got to work with some really good animation people at one job I held in a long tech career.  (I wrote software to help them do their jobs.) Neat folks!

Welcome to the site.

We have a number of different forums here, some of which may help you in getting better responses for your posts.  I do have a few suggestions for you as a new member to help you get started.

* We'd like to get to know you!  Try posting a little bit about yourself in a new topic just for yourself, over in our Introductions forum. Tell us your story, how you came to join our family, life lessons learned, and tell us what makes the world a special place for you.

* If you have questions on hormone replacement therapy, you will get the best response to your questions by asking them over in our Hormone Replacement Therapy forum for our transitioning members.

I hope you feel welcome here.

A Cautionary Note:
Please try to remember when posting that The Internet Never Forgets, and the various web crawlers and archival sites out there somewhere make sure of this.

This is a public forum. We cannot insure that any information shared on the site will be protected from public view and/or copying or reproduction.  There is no way to guarantee that automated image and writing style analyzers out there won't see and process your post.

Do not share anything on Susan's that you do not want to be public information.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to take a look, please take a moment to go through them.

Things that you should read

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Hi, Roman!

I'm not in your generation, being 64 yrs old, but I'm a non-transitioning, nonbinary, partial transmale who lives as an androgyne.

I'm also highly creative; an artist, musician, writer, photographer, inventor, but, unlike you, I only do creative work without seriously cashing in on it and actually am an English literature professor who has been teaching ESL in Thailand since 2010.

Studies show that most high IQ creative people are mixed gender.

i am loving this article! I wanted to put this in a separate reply to keep it more organized, but this is a really interesting read!! I love the idea of expanding gender boundaries (or eliminating them haha)!

Hi Roman and welcome!

Congratulations on graduating with a fascinating degree. I have a friend who is big time into drawing manga cartoons and even had an exhibition in Japan a few years ago. She has also recently come out as transwoman, after spending her teenage years rather unhappy and silently drawing manga stuff. Finally the real person emerged and she is a transformed human but still a manga artist.

I'm an electrical engineer with interests in robotics, artificial intelligence and the application of AR and VR to solving real world problems, but not much artistic talent, alas.

See you around the boards!
