Hi

Again this has most likely been asked before so please bare with me on this.

I have been reading a lot about the effect of HRT during transition as I have yet to start HRT myself, but some of the info is conflicting and your Doctor cannot be expected to all the answers as everyone is different and therefore medication will bring about a wide range of side effects.

So here I go with some dumb questions.

1.Is morning sickness common
2.Do the guy things srink, I thought they stopped working after a while?
3.I assume breasts can take up to two years and your family genetic history can play a role, mother sister re breast size.

I have heaps more but will find out more as we talk.

Hmmm,

Morning sickness is from being pregnant.

It takes a genetic girl years to develope, why should you develope faster.

You shouldn't be taking hormones if your worried about the affect it will have on the male part.

But then if your working with a doctor like you should be, he would answer all of those questions for you.

I've been on hormones for about 3 weeks now and had done a lot of research beforehand and asked my doctor questions.  So here's the answers to your questions:

1. No
2. Yes
3. That's what my doctor said, pretty much exactly.  Except, she added that the closer to 21, the more growth tends to happen.

Ok, but I still suggest that you try contacting a doctor so you will have good information and someone who is monitoring your blood levels.

Hello Carol,

An endocrinologist would be in a better position to answer questions on HRT and the side effects.  But you should also check out the Wiki on HRT.  You can find it here:

HRT

It's a good place to start and there is a lot of information to digest.
