   The day I told my doctor I had been taking HRT meds for 5 weeks I returned home and shaved everything below the neck. I have kept shaven ever since.

I don't really have any body hair and the little bit I do have is snow white. But I do wax my legs and I do a Brazilian on my crotch area.

I have always hated body hair, and unfortunately I had plenty. My first laser session was for my back. Before that I was using a Tria home laser everywhere I could reach to thin it out. I remember seeing my Dad shirtless about 40 years ago and although I love him, he looked like an ape (I hope that does not offend any apes out there). The thought of my back ever being that hairy still haunts me. Right now I am using hair clippers weekly to keep my body hair short. HRT is starting to thin it out and that makes me really happy. If HRT does not do the job well enough, back to the laser I go.

One of my grandpa's friends is like extra hairy. Thick hair on his back, across his shoulders and even on his ears. It's totally gross. Some people should never go shirtless! Ewww!

The day I decided to transition I did two things one of which was have a complete hair removal of everything except my head and my bikini...They used a 'Sugaring" method that uses...surprise, surprise, a sugar and honey mix and has the same effect as wax only gentler than wax...Yeah right!!

As I lay there with nothing but a paper cloth covering me the girl who did it was super nice but had this mischievous grin on her face as she said to me

"This might sting a bit".......you think!!! LOL

Total smoothie here.  I had a surprising amount of thick dark body hair to shave.  Tried Nair exactly one time, smelled like a chemical factory and mildly burned my skin.

The point where I got fed up and decided to fix this for good was I lived one week RLE at a private campground in 2014.  Waking up early to shave my stupid chest before anyone else got to the community shower was enough to convince me.  When I got home I started laser shopping. 

Laser worked pretty well on my body but was a fail on my face, went straight to electrolysis there.  After my face was essentially done I started having electrolysis applied everywhere else.  I really like the results but some areas were not easy. 

I have told my electrologist: this is the least efficient way to lose weight.

God, I wish I were.

I've been shaving my entire body since before I knew I was trans. I cannot stand the feeling of it, especially my facial hair. It's like ten thousand severe and growing blackheads splitting my face apart forever.

Someday I'll be able to afford electrolysis, or at least to buy a home kit and do it that way if it takes me all decade. Someday...

I was doing electrolysis on my torso when I came  out to my technician. She was very happy for me then said that we were wasting time. She strongly advised we go to the face instead cause HRT would get a lot of the hair other places. She was correct. For a more feminine feel I later had her do my abdomen right far down close to the penis. I heard later that for GCS I was supposed to remove hair an inch above the offending member. So rather than have a Clark Gable mustache down there I had it all removed. I actually have a little bit of fine hair in the right place now. I haven't decided if I will keep it. Definitely like being smoothie but the  flip side is hair could help hide scars.

Prior to joining the smoothie club it's called grizzly bare hunting. 

Moni you received great advice from your technician at face value.

For my particular case I probably wasted some money getting full-body laser and electrolysis, but at the time I started I was unsure of transition.  When I did decide to transition I was doubtful I would ever use HRT, I had planned to make up some of the difference with surgery.  Now that I have finally started HRT I have so little body hair left, might as well nail the rest with electrolysis and just be done with it. 

I have no body hair, just leg hair and under arm hair that is so spares it makes some of my cis friends jealous :3

After one embarrassing "panties for swimwear" incident, my wife kept me smooth for many years. Alas, age has caught up with us and it is no longer worth the effort. Now she only shaves me for special occasions.

Well I took my first step in permanently joining the club today with a laser session on the face... 

My goodness that smarts    Not looking forward to venturing further down south but should beat the hell out of shaving all the time!

You might consider having your doctor prescribe EMLA which is a lidocaine / prilocaine creme you place on the area being deforested. Then cover with plastic wrap about an hour before your appointment. Wait to take it of until you are in the chair. Also drinking lots of water. Lastly it appears Natures Bounty hair skin and nails supplements help as the hairs no longer seem to have as much resistance.  YMMV    I now have had over 20 encounters. Luckily my body is relatively hair free so quick maintenance with a little sugar wax keeps me glowing. No that is not hair on my chest. It's the scar from my four heart surgeries.

...and no coffee 8 hours before laser or electrolysis.

I have lasered, waxed or shaved everything into submission. Other than a small, tasteful well maintained landing strip what you see is what I got. I guess that counts.
