I learned the surgeon I want to go to (Dr Daniel Dugi) has a VERY long wait list, so I decided to go ahead to call, since you have to be on T for at least a year just to be seen but I don't want to wait longer than necessary. I'm glad I called now, because I ended up with an appointment on August 8 - of 2018! So by then I'll have been on T for 14 months. The surgery is often 1 year to 18 months later! Holy moley!

I figure that will give me plenty of time to decide which kind of meta I want. I KNOW I want at least simple meta, but adding scrotoplasty is very attractive to me and I definitely want it if the doc can avoid covering my vaginal opening. I guess until I can ask my questions at the appointment and he determines if it can be done, that final decision of "to get balls or to not get balls" will depend on the answer the doctor gives me.

I got the meta packet from Dr. Daniel Dugi, Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. It included exhaustive information about his policies.

Among them are:

*Recommends use of DHT applied directly to area 3-6 months for maximum growth.
*Will perform urethral lengthening only with vaginectomy, and requires hysterectomy at the same time.
*Recommends mons reduction when there is a large fat pad, will do it during meta surgery in some cases.
*For those with a BMI 30+ does not recommend surgery. Prefers BMI 25-
*For scrotoplasty, inserts testicle implants 3 months later in secondary procedure

Congrats! Yeah, Dugi's demand has increased like crazy over the last few months. I know a few guys who have had meta with him who are all very happy.

As far as the scrotoplasty question, you could tell him you don't want a hanging scrotum and would prefer the "old method" where implants are placed directly into the labia majora. That would leave the vagina very accessible. I don't know if you were thinking about urethral lengthening at all, but to do UL without a vaginectomy would greatly reduce the size of the vaginal opening and generally results in increased complications with the UL. Just something to consider.
