Bodily changes? Expected time line?

So I'm in my 30's, I've been on hrt for 26 months and currently at 5'7 and 138 lbs.  I used to be quite lean and muscular pre-hrt and since then, I feel that I lost quite a bit of muscle mass and gained some body fat but I don't feel like it's enough.  I look at myself and I feel as though I still have a very masculine body with almost very little feminine fat distribution.  (Very little breast development and small butt and hips)

I've tried protein deficient diets, fasting for days, caloric limits of about 1000 a day, heavy cardio workouts along with long distance jogging and the only thing that happens is that I become skinner all around but still maintain male-ish body structure. 

I don't think my bone structure is too big an issue as I don't have wide shoulders but I still have muscle mass in my shoulders, neck, and back due to years of training and even though I neglected those areas for two years, they just won't go away.  I recently had ffs so I can't work out for a little while but plan on going hard with my cardio once I can start again.  Also, I've read though Jenny's post regarding hip and butt augmentation and will probably go through that as well.

Just be healthy.  Your body will never be perfect.  Ask any cis-female and they will tell you the same.  The media has expected women, all women, to fit into the pretty petite little mode and hardly anyone does.  Just be healthy and happy with what you have.  If you want surgery, go for it, but don't have it for the wrong reasons.

 Do what hibernating animals do to put on fat for the winter sleep: eat carbs. Lots of carbs. Starving yourself won't give you a more rounded shape.

Ah, maybe my initial post sounds like I'm starving myself.  I guess what I was trying to say was that by losing what weight I had, I was hoping to lose some muscle then regain weight through body fat by increasing my caloric and carb intake. 

My question was basically for others that have been on hrt for a few years when they noticed changes that were significantly different from pre-hrt.  I think my biggest concern isn't passing, it's some of my physical features that still seem masculine to me.

If you want to lose muscle, don't workout, at least resistance training and eat a lot of carbs.  :)

If it's proportions your worried about, do workouts like cis women do. If you go on instagram and places like that you'll see tons of pictures from fitness trainers showing the difference between them after lots of cardio and again after lots of weight lifting. You should do more weight lifting then cardio, but focus on lower body and core. I can't remember the name of the trainer off the top of my head, but maybe a week or two ago I saw in cosmo an article from a trainer talking about cardio over weight lifting. Her pictures of her after heavy cardio made her look almost boyish because she had little fat and no curves, but then her pictures after about a year of focused weight lifting and she had considerable curves.

I started hrt a year ago at 5'10 and 126 pounds.  I started to gain weight and am at 154 and suddenly have boobs and a butt.  Maybe feed your figure and eat what you want, within moderation?

Definitely no timeline can be expected, we are all different.

The exercise you should be doing is aerobic and stretching. OK, maybe a little light resistance training. But definitely no heavy weight lifting.

Eat a balance diet with enough calories to give you a 20 % body fat composition.

For a balanced diet, I suggest 50 % vegetables and 25 % fruit with the remainder with a little lean meat,  non-fat dairy and whole grain bread or other grain.

What you get is what you are. No guarantees. We all just do our best.

I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

Started HRT April 17, 2019.

Thank you for the responses,  I guess I was hoping there were some women who could share personal stories as I am pretty well versed in nutrition and physical fitness.  When I was working out while experimenting with different diets, my goal wasn't so much weight loss but more so losing muscle mass by putting my body into a catabolic state in which I create temporary protein and caloric deficiency so that my body would cannibalize my own muscle then replenish it with a carbohydrate heavy diet to increase fat gain.

I think my problem is my muscle mass still looks somewhat masculine to me.  I am not so much worried about how I am perceived but more so how certain aspects of my physicality that can be changed is not really changing as much as I hoped through hrt.

If anyone has any physical changes they experienced through the years, I would love to hear it.

That's fine if you have a decent layer of fat already. Heavy people that go on vlcd's lose a lot of muscle, sometimes as much or more that fat. It's not going to make you more rounded. Excess calories with attention to eating more carbs will add more fat over the muscles. Hormones will determine where the fat goes.

I've been on hrt for 2 years. I'm 5'4 and 109 lbs. I didn't have any muscle to lose.  I was really thin. I had absolutely no butt and very little fat padding over my body. After I was on hrt for a few months I started to develop a layer of fat all over. I don't mean that I got fat. It was a thin layer of fat but it made me much softer. After 2 years my thighs have filled out and my hips and butt filled out pretty well. My butt isn't going to get envy from anyone but it's not flat like before. My boobs are a small c cup. After a few months on hrt I had complained to my Dr that my boobs and butt weren't developing much. She told me I needed to eat more. She said my body needed some fat to work with. So now it's the challenge of eating enough to maintain my boobs and butt but not so much that I start getting fat. For the first year I was on hrt I really wanted breast implants and butt and hip implants. But now I don't plan on having any of those. My body for sure isn't the ideal. But I can be happy enough with what hrt gave me that stopped wanting all the implants.

lol, I wish I was your size.  I'm guessing you experienced most of your changes were after the 1st year or so?  I think I am personally worried about whether I am going to continue experiencing changes or that's pretty much it for me.  Anyhoo, thank you for sharing!
