Hello,
We have recently found this site!  Ware hoping to gain friends and good info here. My name is Heather and Hi  I live with a transsexual female.  her name is Sissy.  she desperately wants to be male.  We have never posted to a site like this before so you may have to give us a little time to get comfortable.  Like I said before we are here to gain information ,but to also make friends.  We are looking for people who have views and understand what she goes through on a day to day basis.  We have been together for about 3 years now and I deal with her frustrations also being her life partner.  We are both 30 very serious about this surgery.  I have a lot of questions as being the partner as she has being the transgender. please respond!!  Thank you for taking time to read our new posting.  Hope to here from you soon!

Hi and welcome Heather and Will,

That's an almighty loud intro you've got there  :), nice to see you here and I am sure you will make lots of friends and get heaps of advice and opinions.

Yes, the frustration and the waiting is hard for your partner and yourself, it can be unbearable at times but you're both lucky to have each other.

See you around the place  :),

'She' might be more comfortable with being referred to as 'he'....if anyone referred to me as a she anymore, I would probably take the nearest sharp object and lacerate their jugular, or simply choke them until they pleaded for mercy...or do other nasty things to them...

Sorry, I know you probably don't mean to use the incorrect term. I just wanted to point this out before potentially damaging your relationship with this person. They might be just fine with being referred to as a 'she' pre transition...I just know I wouldn't.

Just my two cents. I seem to be on a rampage these days, should probably shut my mouth.

I think Z.a.p (Zombiesarepeaceful) has a good point. If Will says he is a man then maybe Sissy is not really the best name for him anymore, up to Will I guess. I'm really interested in how you, Heather, feel about originally falling for a female and then finding out that they are really a man. It must be tough, seeing them as female and needing to switch your head around the fact that they are not really female. It is great that you are really supportive of your man. That takes a lot of love and commitment, I wish you all the best.

in response to the question about falling for a female and then finding out that they are really a man, my situation might be different, but i will share anyway.  I'm actually engaged now to a woman who considered herself a lesbian. We have discussed me be trans several times and she is VERY supportive. Her main concern is my happiness and she wants the best for me. In the beginning she had some problems with it, for the simple fact, she thought she was getting in a relationship with a girl then realized, i'm not close to a girl. She expected me to know how girls think, feel, and all that stuff. and i have no clue. i try to understand where she is coming from, but it is really hard, because my communication skills are not very good, im not emotional, and im not sensitive. but she has learned and she now understand that i am a guy, and she loves me now more than ever. She is the best thing that could ever have happened to me, and even though it was a little difficult at first, she gets me, and she understands. We have been together now for about 2 years, and we're getting married in July. I think it just takes willingness and understanding from both sides.

WOW - that's just terrific news there Jet !!!
I am super-thrilled to hear that you are still together, happy, and even planning a future together.
Very cool stuff.

Ya see, my son is in the exact same position as you are; he started a relationship with a gal who is a lesbian, but now my son is changing into a man.  Me? I worry about everything and I've been concerned that their relationship may just dissolve as he moves along with his transition.  She's a nice gal, and really in-tune with my son and helping to support him.  I love the idea of them staying together.

Thanks for sharing!
