I'm truly glad to see the idea's of Stan Lee's (creator of the X-Men series) vision of freedom of one's self is important has found it's way to a larger group of people. Although I don't like to hear all the hype about how the recent movies were partly filmed to portray LBGT rights, the director of the film Bryan Singer has made it known that he is gay, also Sir Ian McKellen ( plays Magneto) is an advocate for LBGT rights.
Non-the-less, I have been a great fan of Stan's "X-Men" (not the movie adaptation, even though the movies were good) ever since I came to read the comics in elementary school. And have found a great amount of learning about life through the stories in the comics, and how to apply every day issues I face with an open mind.
Even though they are comics, I tell people to read as much of it as possible when ever the get a chance if they thought the movies were good but haven't experienced the full aspect of the story. There's 40+ years of comic series and the movies just aren't long enough to tell it all.
