Is there any hope for bottom surgery?

So I'm non-binary and female-assigned. I have pretty severe bottom dysphoria (regarding the hole, the organs, and the lack of penis), and while part of me wants to hold out forever until surgery techniques get better, the other part of me just feels like I need to pursue meta as soon as possible.

The problem is: I haven't had, and don't really want, top surgery. And I'm not sure I want to be on T forever (I've been on and off in the past, hoping to go back on, but it's a struggle because facial hair triggers my dysphoria even though fat redistribution would help it a lot). From what I understand, this pretty much disqualifies me from ever having bottom surgery.

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with surgeons who might take NB patients who are atypical? Has there ever even been a case? Am I just trying not to face reality? Is it worth it to transition fully to male despite the dysphoria it might cause just I order to relieve my bottom dysphoria? Has/Is anyone else (been) in the same place?

I'm impulse posting bc tonight's been rough dysphoria-wise, but any comments are appreciated, even if they're not what I "want" to hear.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I understand that you are non binary but I am moving the thread to a place where you are more likely to receive a response. I don't know much about the surgeons that are available but the non binary is more acceptable now and with the proper therapist letters it's likely you will find a surgeon who will treat you.

As far as the facial hair, it can be removed. Electrolysis or laser hair removal are fairly effective though costly, time consuming and somewhat painful (been there, done that). CIS men sometime have facial and body hair removed because of problems with ingrown hair or just a 5 o'clock shadow that comes out early in the morning. Hair Removal will help you learn more about your options in controlling unwanted hair.

There are definitely surgeons out there who are open to patient requests as long as you can articulate why you need some things and not others. The bigger concern would be getting insurance to pay. Generally insurance companies that have inclusive coverage want to see a progression toward bottom surgery, essentially to show that you're serious about transitioning and not taking it lightly. Most of them are vaguely following the recommendations for requirements for bottom surgery outlined by the WPATH SOC.

I'm on the other side of the fence - non-binary seeking MTF bottom surgery.  It /can/ be done - I'm scheduled for November!  Don't give up hope.  In my case, I went and I told my story to gender clinic counselors and psychiatrists until I found someone who would listen and write me a letter.  Persistence counts for a lot in this game.

Oddly, you may find your opinion on your secondary characteristics may change over time.  I never wanted breasts, but now I'm finding I do.  Odds are I'll socially transition to female (though I still feel non-binary) just because it will be easier.

You can do it!
One day they woke me up; so I could live forever.
