Hi everyone.  I've been reading your posts for a long while and finally decided to jump in and join the discussion.  I'm 55 yo and have been struggling with GD since my mid-teens.

About 6 months ago I sought help from a therapist and she's helped me accept that I have gender dysphoria and while I now recongnise myself as transgender I will continue to present as a male (for a lot of the same reasons as some of you).

I'm excited about connecting with you guys as it has been a long tough road alone.

Hi Mandy, welcome to Susan's!  Glad you decided to join and become a member.  I am MTF about the same age, Seattle area.  My first gender therapist meeting was three months ago - shortly after that meeting I arranged to get onto HRT.

I hope you can find answers here as I have in the various forums.  I've been able to make better decisions by learning about other members' real-world experiences.  Coming out blocked me for while - I found the Coming Out forum to be quite a help.

We have some guidelines to provide to new members, I'll add this information here for you.
