Micaella

Hi,
I'm about to take the big plunge and buy my first outfit, wig, and makeup so I can dress completely for the first time. Hopefully I can take some pictures I'll feel proud enough to post.
Thanks for your help,
Micaella

hsn.com   They have everything you need.  You don't even have to leave the house to buy anything... ;D

Thanks Tink,
I checked it out. It does look like they have everything I need, but I didn't recognize any of the make up  brands they carried. Where are they located?

Has anyone ordered from Suddenly Fem?  I have my order picked out, just have to enter my credit card number.  I'm a little scared....

The makeup brands are very good.  If you decide to buy makeup from them, try Signature Club A, Serious Skin Care, or Philosophy.  Personally I love Clinique, but they don't carry it! :(

I know, their are just too many to recommend just one, except for Tink. Thanks again. Anyways I bought my basic makeup kit from Walgreens.com. I spent about $100 and got the basics I think I'll need. I know from posts here that I should of went to make up counter, but I just don't think I can do that yet. I spent about $200 to but a dress, waist cincher, gaff and a wig from Suddenly Fem to complete an outfit.  I had already bought some panties, bra, stockings and heals from a department store two weeks ago and was super nervous.  Last Night I also bought a few cosmetics from target and felt a little more comfortable. I've been reading all the posts here and have been learning a lot!!!!  Can't wait until my orders arrive, makeup tomorrow, clothes the next day. Yeah!

I like shopping for clothes at Newport News.  They have lots of practical as well as dressy clothes at a reasonable price and a variety of sizes, including 14, 16, 18 and plus sizing.  If you have a make-up savvy girlfriend it really helps.  If I were buying foundation make-up to camouflage facial hair again I would order the Kryolan Derma Color16 color pallet and find which one is your best match.  Kryolan is the gold standard for beard camouflage.

I buy a lot of stuff on-line, so I have nothing against on-line shopping.  But...

If you are buying this stuff for the first time, I think face to face might be better.  Clothing has to fit right, and the only way to know is to try it on, and - what's more - a lot of things I really wanted to buy, once I put them on were screaming "Take me off now!"

MAC does a lot of work with Tgrrrls, and are very friendly, and will help you buy the right colors and shades, which if you've never done it is harder than it sounds.  Why buy a bunch of stuff you don't need, or is not right - that's just wasting money.

Wigs again, find a wig store and let the nice people there help you.  They are very used to men doing this and will not bat an eye.  And they can help with care, cleaning and styling tips too.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I think you'll find every counter at Nordstrom will be quite friendly.  They also have samples of most products so you can see how it looks on you.  I like LancĂ´me eye and lip products.  The colors are less bold than MAC but that's my style.   8)

Newport News is great like Claire said. I especially like their Jeanology jeans.
Spiegel is nice too.

Sears has a clearance on dresses and other clothes $3 for a dress. But most of their stuff is kind of plain.

Kohl's is good but plain. Make sure to check their clearance.

JCPenney's is good but plain to. Check their Wednesday deals.

http://www.slickdeals.net/ is descent site but don't use their links because that  I think how someone got credit card number.
