I am hoping to find some help, along with my girlfriend, for a young (19 year old) Afghani person, who identifies as trans. My girlfriend is serving in the Army in that region of the country. She recently met this person in a remote village in Eastern Afghanistan. The person identified themself as trans and is in need of help to be able to find refuge to transition. The region is very dangerous for trans persons. We are hoping to find some resources or agencies that work to protect these marginalized persons from harm.

Good God.  One year ago I would have referred you to the Departments of Defense and State.  Now, I have no freaking clue.

I know there are resources for trans folk over the border in Pakistan, but I have no clue what is available in Afghanistan, even in Kabul.
