Hello all,

I'm Leslie an I've gleaned tons of information from the forum for some time. I thought perhaps it was time to come out of the closet and introduce myself and tell you something about me.

I'm a transgendered woman who's been avoiding the step across the threshold for more years than I can count. I've hidden my true self from everyone as best I could but there are those perceptive people who know the truth, even when you haven't told them a thing. My first wife figured it out and left me. I finally told my second when cancer struck me and I didn't want to die with this secret. She felt deceived by me and nearly left me. Then something wonderful happened, I went into remission on the cancer and came out - and she stayed and supported me, first through the Orchiectomy and now the penectomy, which is three days away, and my joy brings tears to me daily because she's told me she's sticking around for the duration of our life.

There have been accounts of people's experience through this procedure on this forum in the past but I'm hopeful I can add information on what I went through and what I experienced, good and bad. I opted out of a full SRS because what I really wanted, more than anything else, was to rid my body of the abomination between my legs which torments me nearly to death - a subject which I've considered  on many occasions.

My Orchiectomy was two years ago and I have been on HRT since. Quite an experience I might add and a topic I intend to comment on further.

I present as Androgynous, often as female but mostly as in-between. I get some strange looks but don't care and have told a few people where they could insert their opinions of me. At my age I don't care, and no, I'm not telling you that but let me just say I was around when Renee Richards made scandalous headlines transitioning. (Look it up if you're too young).

Thanks to Susan for putting up with us and those that hate us, kudos!

I'll post a pic when I figure out how, and start a thread on this next step when I arrive at the location and begin the process.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I don't need to look up Renee Richards because I was following her tennis matches. I think it's the only time in my life when I was interested in sports. In my case, by then I already knew a good deal about myself and was working on therapy before starting my transition. It appears you have things pretty well under control but if there is anything I can help you with, let me know.

Hi Leslie, welcome to Susan's Place! My orchi was ten days ago, I don't have further surgeries planned at this point. Not taking anything off the table, though. See you around the site!

Hello Leslie, welcome to Susan's!

Congratulations on tackling cancer, and for living as your true self.  Your wife being a genuine partner in your life - so great to hear that.

I am MtF in the Seattle area, recently started HRT but I have been making other changes for the past couple years and accelerating.

My first knowledge anyone could be transgender was in the late 1970s when I discovered one of my favorite musicians Walter Carlos - who helped refine the Moog synthesizer and recorded Switched On Bach - had become Wendy Carlos.  I was in high school.

Very glad to see you here!

Hi Leslie,
