Hey All,

So my lovely new name change document arrived at the weekend, I have stared the rather boring (but fun) task of going around to all of accounts and responsibilities etc to update my name..... It's weird when random things pop in my mind ..... like darn, I must change spotify too !....

Each time I update it,  I feel like I am getting a step closer each time, so its a weird sort of pleasure.

It's also amazing to see that companies vary so much on how they want you to change your name, some in person, some via email and some just let you change it via the website.

Can't wait to cancel out my old name across everything xx

It's a very satisfying step, isn't it?  :)  The most satisfying piece of paper I ever got.

I started making one, that list got far longer than I thought it would be in no time at all.

DD 214 is one of the ones I have to tackle next. I don't want to be buried as Michael.

It is a daunting task, tracking everything down that needs changed. But each one that got taken care of made me smile more and more often. I just love showing my new driver's license!

I remember when I looked young enough, being asked to show my driver's license to purchase certain products, and wondering if they think it might say "male". Then, I got a twisted form of pleasure showing it to them with "female", instead.

The last thing that dawned on me, what to change, was my school records.

Amazing to hear that everyone takes a lot of pleasure out of making the various changes !

I created a list too, it seems to get longer and longer as things pop into my mind, so satisfying x

Congratulations on getting your papers!

I am still working on my change list.  I keep it on a spreadsheet.  Makes it easy to keep track of what's done and what still needs to be done, as well as adding new ones as I think of them.

The name change was good, but I'll be happier when my gender change comes through in a couple of years.  Being "Kathleen / M" on my driver's license is better than being "<dead name> / M", but if I'm stopped by a cop, I'll have a lot less explaining to do once it says "Kathleen / F"!

Thank you :)!

I already feel the same way, the name change is all good and exciting,

But I'm already thinking of the ultimate aim of the gender change too.

All this effort will be worth it xx
