So..... I have been lookin' around the web at surgeon's who do hip augmentation, not hip replacement (please). Though more than likely I'll need a hip-joint replacement at some point in my life due to some bad paraglider landings.
There are ways to achieve your goals, or at least get much closer to them through diet, nutrition, and exercise, rather than surgery. It is not prohibitively difficult to add muscle mass to that area of the body. Just takes the right approach. Unlike with the dangers of fat grafting, the muscle won't be absorbed by the body or shift to unwanted areas. It will also greatly help with your hip problems, possibly preventing the need for replacement, unless the damage is entirely cartilage based. Even then, the added muscle and blood flow in the area makes for fewer complications during surgery and a faster recovery. Increasing general body muscle mass also helps the body burn calories and fat, even during periods of inactivity, such as surgery recovery. Regardless of the route you choose, educate yourself as much as possible on the subject, have realistic expectations, and above all, stay safe.
HUGS!
