Megan.

So here's a good one...not. I had some recommendations from previous colleagues on my LinkedIn profile,  unfortunately they all used my old name and pronouns. I was able to hide them from my profile,  but I wanted them back as they have value.
I contacted my former colleagues and asked if they could tweak their previous statements to match my new details. They're happy to do this (all great ppl),  but LinkedIn does not allow either modification of the text by original author or the submission of a second one for the same person/role; stuffed!
I'm going to contact LinkedIn to see if they can assist,  I'll update here with any progress.

Thanks for checking into this.  This is important to me too at my community is fairly small where I work and I'd need them to know I'm still around and available sometimes.
you know how far the universe extends outward? i think i go inside just as deep.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.
11/6/17 - came out to sister, best day of my life
9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.
Age 10 - suppression and denial began
Age 8 - knew I was different

I've had a response from LinkedIn (below), but in short, the original recommendation has to be deleted by the original author, and then a new revised one created:

Thanks for contacting LinkedIn. I will be happy to help you out, Hope you are having a good day.

I am so sorry as with the new update with our interface, Once a recommendation has been sent, it cannot be edited.
However, the sender can delete the recommendation and create a new recommendation to send to the same person. The recipient can choose to display or hide a recommendation at any time.

To delete a recommendation, you've sent:

  • Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  • Click View profile.
  • Scroll to the Recommendations section and click the Edit icon in the top right corner.
  • Click the Given tab at the top of the pop-up window.
  • Locate the recommendation you want to remove and click Delete.
  • In the pop-up window, click OK when asked Are you sure you want to delete this recommendation?
  • If applicable, create a new recommendation.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
