I don't know why, but you look totally a guy. And your facial features and a haircut aren't that different from the previous poster. Maybe it's 'in your face' head position where your head goes slightly forward as if 'challenge me if you dare'?

Sooo hi again. Moved to the city and somehow almost-everyone in the university takes me directly as a guy (though one guy directly asked if I was a guy, some weird stuff 'cause some people said "he", referring to me, and some others (less) said "she"). Well, there's a lot to this "story" so I may write a post to vent a little and such. (? But right now... I want to know if I made a mistake with my hair, if it is better now or no change at all, at passing.

This was me just some hours ago:

And this is me now:

Does the new haircut makes me look like a butch lesbian? That's one of my worst fears. God, I don't want that. But I kinda feel like I look like one. Though, I passed at the hairdresser.

Anyway. Thoughts? Any suggestion?

You continue to pass to me but still as a very young boy (around 12). If I saw you on a college campus I'd read you as a female but only because I'd assume a boy that young wouldn't be in college, if that makes sense.
On the street? I'd see a boy.

It's a nice haircut in my opinion and slimmed out your face a little for the better.

Still think you look like a dude, in fact, despite how young your face is I'm surprised how well you pass. I'm not sure how you get people to see you as a guy despite being in college, but you may as well take it as it is and not ask questions

Protip: If someone directly asks if you are a guy, you should totally respond "Yes", if you haven't already. In fact, if it's still confusing some people where some will call you he and some she, take the opportunity to refer to yourself as male, insert phrases like "I'm the type of guy who procrastinates a lot!" or "Guess who just got an A in class? This guy!" Seems like you already got the majority of people gendering you in your favor, you may as well play that along and maybe next time someone calls you "she" look surprised and correct them.

You totally pass as male. A young male but still a male. Your hair looks very good also.

Thanks. I do think that, at least some of the people that read me as female are doing so for the same reason that you said. Ironically, many people seriously thought that I was a gifted kiddo. xD A 12yo genius child, but whatever, I'm kinda used to people thinking I'm younger, even when I was still presenting as female (I'm barely 5').

Thank you, I was worried about the haircut doing the opposite, to make my face look even rounder.

Yeah, I've come to the same conclusion. xD Specially given my lack of ability to "act like a grown up", I usually give the appearance to be lost (and most of the time, I feel lost). Whatever. xD

Yeah, I answered "Yes" (well, no, I just nodded at the moment, to be precise) when he asked. And yep, I'm gonna take your protip. The one thing that scares me, is that all of my papers are still with the wrong gender (about my name, I don't understand at all how most of them just ignored the fact that one of my names is crearly female, but I'll take it; I just go by my last name). I don't want to be outed, 'cause I know most of the people here are still pretty transphobic. But well, I hope to start with transition soon enough to avoid as much problems as possible.

Thank you.

CodexUmbrae. University cities are a great places to transition.  I could see going a little shorter with your hair; probably help you past easier.

Yeah, most of the people don't know anything about me and youth is usually more accepting than adults. The one real issue could be with transphobic teachers, but as until now, I haven't any problems about that.
And thank you for the tip, I may as well cut it shorter next time.

Took this after church the other day and didn't realize how decent it looked until today. Except my tie is wonky. Ugh.

Then again, you can't see my hips or my height here, which are kinda dead give-aways sometimes.

I can't see your pic, something about the site where you uploaded it.

Unfortunately photobucket no longer allows free third-party hosting.  They now charge $399/year for it!.[emoji35]

You might want to switch to flickr (sp?)  I hear a lot of good things about it.  There are other sites too but flickr is the one I know the most about.

well darn. I didn't know that. Must be pretty recent, considering it worked fine a couple months ago. It did show fine in the preview, though... that's why I didn't catch it.
Took the time (all two minutes of it) to learn Flickr. Thanks for the help on that, Codex and Ryuichi.

You're welcome. And I agree  with Julia, you pass pretty well and you look good. I think the haircut suits you well (at least, what I can see).

Congrats. ;)

All right, here goes . . . I know I don't pass well, but I'm curious about which picture I pass best in.

Picture 1, taken in June of this year: It's not a bad pic of me, but my feeling is that I look 100% feminine here.

Picture 2, taken last week: I think the new glasses help, and the lack of a goofy smile keeps me from looking totally girly.  It's blurry af, though, and I look sorta grim.  I'm not actually a grim person.

Picture 3, also taken last week:  I look like a total fat ****, but wth, I am a total fat ****.  Not thrilled with the squinty eyes (I was looking into the sun), but at least I don't look like somebody just died.

Do people have any preferences among the pictures?

I think in the last two pics you look totally male. The glasses did some weird superman/Clark Kent like transformation  :D
