So basically, I don't actually posses any of my own lingerie or feminine clothes at all atm, but I am very close to having a little shopping spree and I was just wandering, when I buy my own clothes and underwear for Alexis, how am I going to actually wash them without my parents seeing them?! Would really appreciate any advice..

Go to any laundromat, do it there. Or many of them have 'wash and fold' service - drop it off, pick the next day, no questions asked

Alexis, this is hard. I did wash mine at home without my parents knowing. I usually washed mine when I knew everyone would be out  for a while. I do like the idea of the laundry mat, I don't know why I never though about this. So I would say if that is an option for you do that. Sounds like it would be easiest or do it at a friends house that knows your secret. I suspect you have not come out yet. Friends can be great allies.

Well, first make sure you read the label and then some tutorials online to make sure you know exactly what you are doing. It's not like male clothes where you can toss 99% of it in the same load and be done. Lingerie in particular is going to require delicate handling, and be aware that colors in general seem to run more even on the non-delicates.

I've been hand washing everything delicate in my bathroom sink with a little bit of detergent personally, then hanging them up to dry (with enough support they don't stretch!) in a well circulated area so it goes a bit quicker. It's time intensive, but private.

My bigger problem is the "real" clothes. I have two pairs of pants that need to be washed on their own first, but I can never find the time to dedicate a cycle to a single article of clothing... twice.

You can hand wash them. If you don't have much time alone, you could do it while you shower. Or, as elkie said, go to a laundromat.

Thanks everyone! So if I was so wash them in the shower, how would you then reccomend I dry them? Because it's probably best to leave them out in the open? Sorry, feel like I'm being very thick here!!

Most female clothes can be washed in a regular washer in bulk. Don't buy flimsy dresses that are too impractical and delicate and you'll be all right.

Yes honey, this is the key - finding the right time to wash them clothes, getting them dry, covering the fact that washer was used (do you normally wash your male clothes or how would you explain why suddenly you had that desire, or what exactly did you wash)?

All of it is taken care with a laundromat, even better with 'wash and fold' service.

It worked for me for years - keeping my stash in a storage (I had 0 chance to hide anything in home, my partner is like a Sherlock Holmes, I would go out dressed, than pile dirty clothes into a bag, when the bag got full - I'll drop it at 'wash and fold' on the way to work to be picked another day. It works perfectly - because your parents won't have a chance to find your clothes...

But other people might have different situations and agendas. Some might actually want to let parents to know occasionally.

Now, if you have a nice storage, and only need to wash a pair of panties, or a bra, or a wig maybe, one could potentially find a single-occupancy toilet and hand-wash panties in the sink, then bring them to your storage and let them dry naturally. And if you don't have a storage, but have a car, you could've try to get stuff dry in the trunk while the car is parked.., Not the best proposition - but sometimes one need to be inventive

Although for a wig, I'd go to wig-selling salon, some of them offer services to wash wigs.

Oh, and regardless of everything else, the first thing to do is take control of your own laundry entirely now if you don't. That way you can work non-delicates into your normal load with no one being the wiser. No sense worrying about laundromats and hand washing for the simple stuff. (Which btw, don't make the mistake I did and buy only ultra feminine lacy underwear at first that does require the handwashing and delicate cycles. It makes you feel great and feminine, but quickly becomes a hassle and isn't always comfortable to sleep in. Get some basic everyday stuff too.)

As for drying at home, that depends on what your level of expected privacy is. I can usually just hang stuff in my room and no one will ever see it, with a towel underneath to catch dripping. If you are young enough you have parents and others coming and going unexpectedly, you will probably want to stick with the laundromat idea if at all possible, as it can take a while for stuff to dry properly. You might be able to get away with hanging them overnight and just hiding them in the morning, but that is really going to depend on the individual item. My more delicate panties dry pretty quickly, but one the camisole I have takes a good 24 hours. The thing is like a sponge. A cute, lacy sponge.
