So its been two weeks since my first laser session on my face. The hair shedding has started.how to tell that laser has effective by shedding of hairs in that area or face or its after effect of every laser session
I cant feel my face when am with you ::)

It obviously varies,  but the expectation is for about 10% of folicle roots to get killed in each session (dark ones only). The more sessions you have,  the more visible it should become if it's working for you. X

Shedding is a good measure, regrowth is difficult to tell because the follicles that were not active when you had the laser pass will still grow, the ones that were active got zapped. That is why we have to have repeat sessions every 6 weeks or so. The cumulative effect is to reduce the growth and it becomes noticeable after a couple of sessions depending how hairy you were.

From memory and it is a long time ago for me, people started to notice about 3 sessions in that my face was looking different. They were close friends BTW who knew I was transitioning by starting laser.

Check your face immediately after a session and you will see number of dark hairs that appear large or swollen...these will usually be the first to go and are visible evidence the laser actually did something...For me it was around the 4th Session that I really noticed the difference....Good luck and I hope you get a great result

The laser only zaps active dark hair follicles so I find as sessions progress, I feel less follicles being zapped.  Of course they tend to turn the power up as sessions progress so it isn't necessarily any less painful  :o

I had an amazing first session and like Liz said, straight after you could see a difference in the hairs that had been affected (I went in clean shaven and after had a 5 o'clock shadow).  After two weeks loads of hairs shed and I guess I lost about 50-60% of my facial hair in that first session alone.  Since then progress has been much, much slower (maybe 5-10% per session) and when I shed, whereas the initial hairs that shed were around 3mm long, the ones that shed now are around half that

So now coming up to my fourth session, I judge my progress on what I can feel being zapped, how little regrowth there is between sessions and the colour of my skin around the beard area

i just had my second session.  I noticed no difference at all after my first session.  I didn't notice shedding.  My second session was yesterday.  The wait time between sessions is aggrevating.  They have me scheduling every 8 weeks which just seems like an eternity.

Shedding takes place 7-14 days after treatment...what I refer to is the size of the dark hairs they may seem slightly bigger. I had my genital laser done on Friday and asked her to have a go at my top lip...its been 8 weeks or more and there are still a few persistent black hairs (maybe 2 dozen). She went all over my top lip and I could see some were affected by the laser and swollen...If you have many dark hairs it may be difficult to see. I use a magnifying mirror to look...

The other thing to ensure is that you are getting Laser and not IPL? If they start talking about them being the same then it is most likely IPL...which in my personal experience is fine for body hair but not great for facial hair.

I am getting laser!

I only mention it because I had 7 sessions of what I thought was laser and turned out to be IPL....When I was having regular laser it was about the 4th session when I really noticed the difference....about 7 days later as I began to shed I noticed that there was a clear difference.

The shedding is very noticeable for me because I generally don't shave until the shedding has taken place.  If you shave regularly after laser then I guess you won't really notice what hairs were dead or alive

With each session I have, the tech increases the power of the laser and it has been getting more and more painful when it hits a follicle.  However, I can feel the number of follicles decreasing on every visit

Perhaps have a chat with your clinic and see what they suggest.  It might be worth asking how they decide on the power setting for your skin and if/when they intend to increase the power
