I'm still living with my transphobic dad and stepmom, but my mom is going to try and get me to move in with her 1 more time. She is very supportive and wants to get me on testosterone as soon as she can to help me transition. What's the youngest age you can start? Also once I get to move in if I can, I do plan on finding a gender therapist, so I can start my transition. I'm just curious about what's the youngest age you can start it in Texas with parent consent. She lives near Austin, which is nice. I think there's is some gender therapists there. I truly hope I can live with her and start my transition while being supported :)

There is a 13 y.o. f2m in my support group. I believe he has been on puberty blockers. I'm not sure what age he can start T, but he turns 14 soon and will be starting then. I don't whether his age, or the time in therapy/on blockers is the determining factor.  I'm not sure how old you are, but the puberty blockers only can be started before the onset of puberty.

This is what his ally (his aunt) talked about in group. I don't claim to know the facts, just passing on what I've heard.

I'm pretty sure that legally it's between a patient and his doctor as to how young a person can be and start T.  There may  be medical limits to hrt that I'm unaware of, though.

There are some good doctors in Austin.  I recommend the Planned Parenthood clinic on Research Blvd.  They can provide a list of therapists, support groups, and everything else a transgender person needs.
