I am not transgender and I am really hoping that you will have me on for this topic and help me. You are the only ones with the answers I need that I cant find anywhere. I would appreciate it immensely.

I am a 34 year old woman with normal levels of testosterone (for a woman).

Yesterday I injected 2 ml Nebido ie  IM. Got the dosage and type of testosterone completely wrong and only realized it afterwards. I know it doesn't sound very smart and I am panicking so please don't judge me. I was going for a self medicated replacement therapy, which actually is indicated for women. But obviously the dose is much lower than the  I injected and Nebido has not been used for that yet. But I had it at home since my husband takes it....and well it was 10 minutes of stupidity.

I know that Nebido is prescribed for female to male transgenders. I have read about some of your experiences. A couple of members wrote their voice changed after only a couple of weeks?

What happened after your first injection? What can I expect is going to happen to me?

There's some good FTM videos on YouTube. You might find looking at those helpful.

Nothing's going to happen with just one injection. Your testosterone level will spike then eventually go back to normal. Voice changes don't happen in just one week.

I'm not on hormones at this point, but I think you're going to be fine.  Most people have to be on testosterone for months before they see significant changes.  (I'm assuming Nebido is a brand of T?)  I'm really not sure what a one-time large dose will do, but testosterone is a substance naturally made by the body, so I doubt you can actually poison yourself with it. 

Hopefully, someone on here who actually takes it can give you more info.  There's also always the option of calling a pharmacist and just not giving your name.

You'll probably get a large spike in libido. Apart from that, I really doubt you'll see much else (and nothing in the long-term).

THANK YOU so much for your answers. Actually finding helpful people restores my faith in humanity!

I did call the medical helpline and they had no idea. They also couldn't give me a referral to an endocrinologist with experience in treating patients with Nebido...It was hopeless.

That's why I figured I would ask people who actually have used it themselves. Nebido is a long lasting testosterone. One injection (1000 mg) restores normal male levels in men with testo deficiency, for 6-10 weeks. It is also given to female->male transgender persons either at the start or somewhere along the way. I took half of this dose.

So basically, I guess its equivalent to taking any testo treatment for 6-10 weeks. As in I will have blood levels of testosterone equal to a male for around 6 weeks.

Do you still think nothing will happen? Did anything happen for you guys within your first 6 weeks of treatment. I am presuming the doses you were given from the start was the same as mens replacement therapy.

Usually very little happens during the first 6 weeks, and with you at 1/2 a dose, I suspect you won't see any effects.  Worst case scenario would be that you get thickening vellus hair on your face or your voice gets a little rough.  Probably not, though.  I only know 2 guys (out of maybe 100) who responded to T that fast.

Thats great. I wouldn't mind a deeper voice anyway and hair is removable. Thanks!

Nope, I didn't experience anything physical after the first injection. It took a few of them to start noticing any reaction to the higher testosterone levels. After, I'd say, about a month or two I started getting a noticible increase in libido and some hot flashes while my body adjusted but even those effects would be temporary if I had stopped taking it. The only effects I had after the very first shot were psychological because I was excited to finally start my transition. I don't think you have anything to worry about but I understand how it can be frightening.

Since no one else has mentioned it and I've even seen trans men who weren't informed about it freak out over it, you may experience a change in the smell of your urine and body odor for a few days. Don't worry, as this is harmless and only lasts while there are still high levels of T in your system. You'll be back to normal quickly.

You might also get some acne, if you're prone to that during your period.

But nothing permanent or more than mildly unpleasant is going to happen from one dose.

Would you mind coming back here when this is all over and posting about your experience?

HRT often said to be a diagonistic test for being trans, and that trans people feel better on it and cis-people feel bad. That's the theory, but there's so few reports of cis-people actually doing that that its hard to know if its true.

Yepp, the oiliness, sweating and more odore has already kicked in. Im also more hungry and generally warm (usually always cold hands and feet etc)
I went out at bought face wash for oily skin and am going to try to really clean twice a day so hopefully I wont get permanent acne.

Absolutely, Ill update here.
For now, I will say that this definitely could be a way to pinpoint some sort of difference between a cis and a trans. Because I was panicking out of my mind when I thought something was going to happen, literally feeling the morbid panic in my body, and the trans men I have seen in the FTM videos were really excited after their first shot, similar to Contravene above. I'll keep you posted.
