my parents recieved my coming out letter yesterday, and they accept me. the catch is i have to be "Mark" while i'm home for the holidays because of my little brother and sister who are no older than 7 years old. they are just young to understand yet.

Given their age, it sounds like a reasonable response.  I suspect that conditions will change quickly enough as they grow older.

I don't agree that this is a reasonable response.

Perhaps they can explain to you why small children should be shielded for the knowledge of trans people?  In my experience, small children are much more forgiving and accepting of trans people than the adults who have responsibility for them.

We are not perverts that children need to be protected from!  We are human beings with a rare condition.  I suspect that your parents are using your siblings' youth as an excuse to deny you your true self when in reality, it's they who are feeling uncomfortable.  I'm sorry if this is true, I hope it isn't, but I've seen enough of it in my own life to be very suspicious of these attitudes.  And if you acquiesce now, be prepared to hear them say, "Well, you did it for us during the holidays, why won't you now?"

It's easy to say that you accept someone.  It's the actions that come from people's beliefs and true feelings that count.
