hi I've been on here before this my first time posting,
i am 28 and have mild aspergers never diagnosed but told by family and friends that i have it and
a kidney issues, Nephrotic syndrome

my friend and family are
supportive of my transition except for my dad
but have a lot of concerns about me starting hormones and say that i am just confused and my personality is a mans personalty

I've felt like I've needed to transition since i was 14 i have known something was wrong with my gender since i was 3 or 4
although I've kept it hidden. gender dysphoria has always been an issue. some have said that my therapist is too pro trans and anyone could get a letter for hrt and that 5 seasons over two years is not enough time and that knowing takes years
some feel my gender issues are caused by me feeling unhappy with my gender and body because of my aspergers
luckily i have a few really accepting friends that haven't been an issue..

i don't know if anyone has had these issues after starting to come out
my friends have even said i should live as a woman for awhile before i start hrt.
i live on the west coast of canada to its a very open minded here..
that said i feel ready to start my doctor said i am ok to start and so has my nephrologist.

any help would be great

thanks

You should talk to a Gender Therapist to clear things up whether this just a phase or something need to deal with. I'm just miserable for a long time, since I know I am a transgender. Until I talk to my Therapist is make more clear why I am so miserable. My Therapist told me that I am more relaxed and happy when I except my transgender feeling. Since I am affraid to be rejected by family and friends, and that why I am so miserable for awhile. She said I am comfortable when talking about my transgender and cross dresser in woman clothes. So she said that who I am, and I need to be that way to be happy. That why she set up support team for my transition process. Good luck

thanks I've felt the same way and my gender therapist has helped me a lot as well
and I've had a ton of relief since  coming to accept myself and being more open about my feelings

I wish I could start my Hormones Replacement Therapy tomorrow, since I been waiting for so long. I just anxious to begin.

Hi Michelle,

When people question your medical condition ask yourself: is that individual a licensed professional with a decade of medical school and daily experience working in this field?  Or was their knowledge fine-tuned by watching a few YouTube videos posted by someone's cat, or obsolete social constraints of a previous era.

Your mind, your body and your future is yours.  If anyone tries to convince you otherwise they are wasting your time.

My goal has been to gain the best possible information from professionals and from people here based on actual experience so I can make good decisions.  I think you're on the right track.

That is correct. My Therapist see that I am ready for Hormones Replacement Therapy and she set up transition team to help me along the way. I glad my Therapist give me the green light to move forward new chapter of my life.
