Prier

Hi there,

I'm a 24 biological female who is questioning who I am. In the past, I always considered myself apart of LGBT+ community regardless of the fact at the was not currently aware of any aspect of myself that I could label queer.

I've moved and grown yet I still remain confused about who I am as a person and deep down I don't think I can really identify as female. However, I don't really know where to start.

I guess I have a question. How did you know that you felt different and how were you able to find a label/identity that felt right?

Hello Prier, welcome to Susan's!

I definitely questioned myself and very glad I did.  Turns out I am MtF, and when I first started to wonder about these things I didn't have acces to information (early 1970s).  What I'd suggest is - if you can gain access to a therapist experienced in LGBT issues you will probably be amazed at what you can discover.  That, combined with interacting with people here is what has worked great for me.

We have a Wiki section here, that's a great starting point - and I bet you will quickly get to know many here who have direct experience with the same topics you are wondering about.

As a new member I'll add information we provide to help speed up your initial navigation - guidelines and links.  Here is its:

Welcome to Susan's Place. Normally if you are looking for a therapist, you might find a gender therapist could help you with these question. Lacking one at the moment, there are a couple of links I give to people who are exploring their feeling and need more information to determine a direction. Our WIKI discusses what transgender is. The second link is "the transition channel" where transsexualism is discussed. Feel free to ask any questions you might have and we will do the best we can to answer them.
