I pulled off an upset win yesterday in a close race. I'm proud to be standing up for our community!

Alright Steph, Congratulations!

We must assume that you worked hard for that victory.  A significant campaign often involves raising $, kissing babies, going door to door, building a coalition, listening and raising awareness.  That also takes enormous energy and commitment.  I do love kissing babies and have been in elected political office since 1993.  It is both an honor and responsibility to be vanguards for our community.  Rock on sister!

I knocked on over 1000 doors over 8 weeks, my opponent had the "political machine" and the endorsement from the Mayor behind her. I had to build support from ground zero, I worked my tail off to win. It was an insanely close race, I won by 6 votes and only after the absentee ballots were counted.

Wow!  You did a "squeaker", outstanding and still a full on win.  I lost a race for County Commissioner in 2008 by 12 votes.  I got a recount and still lost.  Humility can be heavy;)  We clearly know that every vote counts.

So grateful for people like yourself who are willing to be the change we need to see.  To BE the government and restore honor to the process.  My detractors have called me a libtard and much worse.  Politicians must deal graciously with public opinion.  You have likely heard the joke; how do you tell if a politician is lying?  Its when our lips are moving.  Good thing I'm just using a keyboard ;)

Seriously tho, you have real opportunities to make a critical difference for your constituents and we will be here to cheer you on.

WOW!  Thank you, Stephe, for stepping up, taking an incredible chance, and working so hard to get this win!  This election cycle has just been astounding for the LGB, and especially T community.  Your remarkable efforts are appreciated.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

You rock, woman! Show them what single minded purpose can do. No one has mastered that better than us and I can think of no better quality for a career in politics than that single attribute. Good luck and thank you!
