So my HRT observeations thread is still going:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php?topic=226510.0.
But I wanted somewhere to put other thoughts, musings and experiences...
I've been full-time for more than 6 months now, and I'm out to everyone I know. But just in the last 2 days I still find myself meeting family as Megan for the first time.
I popped over to see my Ex and her father was there, which I wasn't expecting. He's a lovely man, but I wouldn't blame him for feeling anger over the hurt I've caused his daughter. I managed to keep my cool, and he used my correct name, so that's one awkward first encounter done!
Next up my cousin asked me drop by, I said I'd stop in after work, but that I obviously looked a little different these days! She's been really cool with things all along, so we just had a nice catchup, she asked about how my transition was going. Her young daughter saw me, and after a brief pause and stare, carried on as normal.
I've recently joined the leadership team of my employers UK LGBT network. We're a large global employer, and our UK network has over 400 members. I've been lucky to have nothing but acceptance and support at work, but this role gives me an even stronger position to promote trans* awareness. On Monday (20-nov), I'll be mounting up the TDoR names list at work to highlight the continued need we have for good allies.
