Hello everyone,

I have a few questions of which I hope some of you might be able to answer them..

I have had hairline reduction, type 3 forehead, brow lift, chin and jaw shave.

- When can you put back in your hair extensions?
- When can you color your hair?
- When can you start using your regular shampoo?
- When can you use a dry shampoo spray?
- Can you leave in a volumizing mousse in your hair?
- When can you use straightening iron?
- When can you use foundation on the incision area along the hairline?
- When can you use day/night cream?
- Do you have to mention that you have titanium screws in your face when you get botox of fillers?
- When can you do electrolysis hair removal?
- When can you pluck or wax eyebrows?

I would think most of those things would be OK to do. But do not know for sure(am guessing likewise for many) & think it may be something to ask the patient coordinator at your surgeons office for what they recommend. Each seem to be a little unique from what or when you can do something or the meds you can take.

I would not pluck eyebrows at this stage unless the surgeons say its ok. After all this really pulls a bit at the skin that has to grow back to the bone now. I guess Makeup and cream will probably be fine, though I would be careful about the scars - you dont want to irritate them at this stage with cosmetics. I dont think the titanium screws will have any effect at all int he future - not even at an airport or at a CT or MRT scan. I would not color the hair as long as there is a scar that is not healed properly, again you want to avoid anything that will make it heal worse. I would imagine using a mild shampoo is ok at this stage already, but why dont you just ask the surgeon for all these questions - the answers here are all either guesswork or recommendations by other surgeons for other procedures...

I had hair transplants twice. I was told I could not color my hair for 6 to 8 weeks afterwards.  I was given their special shampoo and conditioner to use for a month after my initial just use water for 2 weeks. I had to use ATP in a spray for 1 week.

I had extensive FFS, electrolysis was not allowed for 6 weeks before and 8 weeks afterwards.

I was told about makeup on incisions but I forget exactly how long they told me to wait. I healed very fast. I was using moisturizer, foundation and concealer two weeks afterwards except where there was any scab.
