In my other threads i kept using the word biological to refer to cis gendered people. I am sorry if that sprung up some confusion as i'm still not fully accustomed to all the word terms people use.

Being transgendered has its roots in the science, psychology, and medical fields but as my other thread summarized, we are born this way. People have to realize that, i really hate all the backlash and hostility and tension towards us by people who don't carefully examine their position and investigate further into transgendered people. It is even more disturbing when transgendered people are murdered. Technically transgendered are born automatically identifying themselves as the opposite gender of what the physical body represents and this realizing and knowing kicks in at a very young age. I know i was young although i forgot what my age was. Heck, i'm still young. :o

edit: I am tired or something, i miss spelled transgender as transgenderer, that isn't even a word. Sorry.
I'm my girly self awaiting the day i look like the girl i am through transitioning physically male-to-female in order to becoming more of what is kept inside me so that i feel complete and experience life truly as who i am so that i don't have any regrets.

Many of us just deal with the situations as they come up.

Safety is a big part of being trans and out in society. For me, I just stay away from the people and places where there is trouble.

Be careful and stay safe.

Yes, just stick to places you know and know to be safe. We all are concerned with our well being. I live near Orlando so I know all too well what violent unstable people will do. It's unfortunate others can't accept people's differences. Yes, don't stress on the terminology we use. It took me a little to catch on yes for natural born people is cis as you know. Don't stress and good luck in your journey!!!!

I'm really not bothered by the terms "biological" or "natural born". To me they're interchangeable with "cisgender".

I use the term biological or natal male/female to refer to those who have their birth sex and sex organs unchanged and are generally happier that way. Cis can refer to that, I suppose, but cis more specifically refers to how a person feels about their body/identity rather than the physical state of their own body - meaning "on the side of" their birth sex. If there's any other terms describing the situation in a more succinct way, I'm open to those. But I like to err on the side of science whenever possible, as that's the mechanism by which I understand my own situation and define the phenomenon of transsexualism for myself and others. So if we're talking about bodies or chromosomes, I'll use biological/natal and if we're talking in general about non-trans people, I'll use cis.

I'm not a fan of arguing semantics to be honest, but since the OT is about possible confusion with terms I've stated how I use them.

Transgender encompasses a lot more than automatically identifying as the opposite gender. Also....

I'm Devlyn, a transgender person. I'm Irish.

I'm Devlyn, a transgendered person. I'm Irished.

Do you see how funny it looks when you add  "ed" to the end?

Being "Irished" sounds like a slur from the 1930s.

Charlie Nicki, we are natural born too, that's the whole point and intention behind my other thread if you did analyze it and read not just my posts but other people's. I don't know everything about transgender even though i am a trans girl myself so do pardon my lack of detail. People should fill in the blanks themselves and do some research, and yes we do have to be careful in a world full of crazy people and hateful prejudicial people who think we shouldn't belong in the world because of who we are and that we are such horrible, corrupted, and shameful people. It is appalling for them that transgender people exist and like Hitler they consider us to be worthless like Hitler did with all the people he slaughtered.

If you feel unnatural and its hard to adapt to your physical body and you're not comfortable with it, it's your physical body that is the key piece to the puzzle that doesn't quite fit with the puzzle perfectly to match up with who you truly are, which is why many of us go through transitioning, HRT, and other things. Much of your gender portrays your individuality and who you are, but we are all human beings made of flesh and blood regardless of our gender or what we look like on the outside.

Yes Devlyn there are many factors that determine someone's gender, not just the physical body, really that is an old fashioned and superficial idea that leaves someone resistant to many other things to consider. It's not just feeling like or identifying yourself as the opposite of what the physical body presents either that makes you a transgender. It goes much deeper, and at times can be convoluted to talk about especially for me. Science is continuing to move on and discover more with it's empirical methods. It's sad that some people see science as being dangerous due to their rigid beliefs getting in the way of actual facts that sometimes debunk their beliefs and opinions. Science isn't just merely theory or conjecture, much of it is based and built on facts.

Yes, someone sent me a PM in regards to my usage of transgendered instead of transgender, it was just a mistake on my part but it does sound funny when you put it that way. :D

Charlie Nicki, we are natural born too

Right, but physically speaking, I can't naturally grow boobs or have a vagina, I need medication and surgery for that. So that's why I understand the logic behind biological/natural/cisgender vs transgender. I don't think these words are meant to insult us. To me "trans" also means to transcend one's "natural/biological" physical appearance to match how we feel inside, so sure the way I feel is indeed natural, but the way my body is being shaped by external aids is not. And that's fine... cisgender people change their appearance in "unnatural" ways all the time: They dye their hair, they go to the gym and get huge muscles that wouldn't develop "naturally", they get implants and surgery, they get tanned, etc, etc...

Honestly, except for maybe a handful of little old ladies living in small Eastern European villages, the overwhelming majority of women are "unnatural" in some way. Day to day cosmetics, hair (extensions/weaves/etc. are waaaaaaaaaaay more common than people think), surgery... Most people do something. Most of the videos I watch about things such as lip plumping, contouring, etc. are made by cis women for cis women. It's just reality. We might have to take it a step further with hormones or more "extreme" surgeries on average compared to the general population of women, but then that is the nature of our condition. For instance, cancer patients wear wigs at a higher rate than the general population, and no one would ever dream of questioning that.

Agreed! Screw "natural", it is overrated :)
